Hilton and Hilton Garden Inn Bengaluru Embassy TechVillage Outer Ring Road have appointed Nikhil Padinjarot Karunakaran as Area IT Manager for Karnataka, Kerala and Telangana. The appointment adds an experienced hospitality technology professional to the leadership structure supporting the properties and their wider technology requirements.
Karunakaran brings more than two decades of experience in information technology and hospitality technology, with a career spanning hotel systems, infrastructure deployment, compliance, technology upgrades and operational continuity. His background includes leadership roles with Hilton as well as earlier information systems experience within the hospitality sector.
To Lead Area Technology Operations
In his new role, Karunakaran will oversee area IT responsibilities across Karnataka, Kerala and Telangana. His experience in hotel technology positions him to support technology infrastructure, hotel applications and systems that contribute to operational continuity and secure day-to-day hotel operations.
His background also includes working on guest-facing technology and infrastructure, giving him experience across both the technical and operational aspects of hospitality IT. His role will support technology requirements across Hilton’s operations in the three states.
More Than Two Decades in Hospitality Technology
Karunakaran previously served as Information Technology Manager at Conrad Bengaluru and Hilton Mumbai International Airport. His career also includes information systems roles at Vivanta by Taj President, Mumbai.
At Conrad Bengaluru, he was involved in the hotel’s pre-opening, supporting guest-facing technology, hotel applications and IT infrastructure. The assignment provided experience in establishing technology systems for a new hotel while ensuring the infrastructure was ready to support operational requirements.
His career has also included international exposure. He served as a Task Force IT Manager during the pre-opening of Conrad Singapore Orchard and undertook a deputation at Hilton Nagoya in Japan.
Experience Across Hotel Systems and Infrastructure
Karunakaran’s professional experience covers hotel systems, infrastructure deployment, IT compliance, technology upgrades and operational continuity. His work across pre-opening and operating environments has given him exposure to the technology requirements associated with hotel launches as well as established properties.
A graduate in Electronics Engineering from Mumbai University, he combines an engineering background with extensive experience in hospitality technology. His career within international hotel environments has further developed his understanding of technology systems supporting guest services and hotel teams.

His experience with pre-openings, infrastructure deployment, hotel applications, compliance and technology upgrades will support the technology requirements of Hilton’s operations across the assigned markets.
