Lemon Tree Hotels Limited has announced the signing of Lemon Tree Hotel, Janakpur, marking the brand’s entry into one of South Asia’s most significant pilgrimage and heritage destinations. The signing expands the group’s presence in Nepal to eight properties and further strengthens its international growth strategy.
The hotel will be managed by Carnation Hotels Private Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of Lemon Tree Hotels Limited.

With the addition of Lemon Tree Hotel, Janakpur, the group’s international portfolio now comprises 11 properties, including six operational hotels and five under development across Nepal, Bhutan, and Dubai.
In Nepal, the latest signing increases Lemon Tree Hotels’ footprint to eight properties, comprising three operational hotels and five in the pipeline. The company also operates two hotels in Bhutan and one in Dubai, reflecting its continued focus on expanding branded hospitality across key international markets.
A Strategic Entry into Janakpur
Located in Nepal’s Dhanusha District, Janakpur is one of South Asia’s most revered spiritual destinations. Widely recognised as the birthplace of Goddess Sita, the city is also believed to be the site of her divine marriage to Lord Ram and served as the historic capital of the Mithila Kingdom.
Every year, millions of pilgrims and heritage travellers visit Janakpur, particularly during major festivals such as Vivah Panchami and Ram Navami, making it one of the region’s most important centres for faith-based tourism.
The upcoming hotel will offer guests convenient access to prominent landmarks, including the Janaki Temple, Ram Mandir, Vivah Mandap, and the sacred Dhanush Sagar and Ganga Sagar ponds.
Hotel Facilities
The hotel will feature 85 well-appointed rooms along with a comprehensive range of facilities, including a restaurant, banquet hall, meeting and conference spaces, a bar lounge, swimming pool, spa, and fitness centre.
Designed as a full-service branded hotel, the property aims to cater to both pilgrimage travellers and leisure visitors while supporting the growing demand for quality accommodation in Janakpur.
