Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL) has announced the signing of a Tree of Life resort at Chilika Lake, Odisha, marking the brand’s debut in the state. The greenfield project further strengthens IHCL’s presence in India’s emerging experiential travel destinations.
The upcoming resort will offer guests an immersive nature-led hospitality experience while showcasing the ecological and cultural richness of one of India’s most unique destinations.

Resort Highlights
Located on the banks of Chilika Lake, the 30-key Tree of Life Chilika Lake will offer uninterrupted views of Asia’s largest brackish water lagoon.
The resort will feature an all-day dining restaurant, a bar, a spacious meeting room, a swimming pool, and a spa, providing guests with a tranquil retreat surrounded by nature.

About the Destination
Located in Odisha, Chilika Lake is the largest brackish water lagoon in Asia and the second-largest coastal lagoon in the world. Recognised as a UNESCO World Heritage Site candidate, the lake is home to more than 160 bird species, the endangered Irrawaddy dolphin, and a rich ecosystem of marine and freshwater biodiversity, making it one of India’s most significant eco-tourism destinations.
