Lemon Tree Hotels Limited has announced the opening of Lemon Tree Premier Biratnagar, marking a key step in expanding its upscale presence in Nepal. The launch positions the property as one of the first major branded hotels in Biratnagar, aligning with the city’s transformation into a more modern commercial and industrial hub.

The project supports Lemon Tree’s long-term growth, contributing to ongoing activity in upcoming hotel openings.

    Lemon Tree Premier Biratnagar

The opening reflects Lemon Tree Hotels’ strategy to expand into high-potential international markets while strengthening its footprint in emerging urban centres. Biratnagar, historically recognised as Nepal’s industrial backbone, is now witnessing infrastructure upgrades and increased connectivity, creating demand for organised and branded hospitality offerings.

Positioning in a Growing Commercial Hub

Located in Biratnagar, the capital of Koshi Province, the hotel is strategically positioned within one of Nepal’s key industrial and commercial regions. The city serves as a gateway to both domestic and cross-border trade, making it an important destination for business travellers.

The property also benefits from proximity to key attractions such as Koshi Tappu Wildlife Reserve and Baraha Kshetra, offering opportunities for leisure and experiential travel. In terms of connectivity, the hotel is located approximately 3.5 kilometres from Biratnagar Airport, providing access for both domestic and international travellers.

    Accommodation Designed for Modern Travellers

Lemon Tree Premier Biratnagar features 80 well-appointed rooms and suites designed to meet the needs of contemporary business and leisure travellers. The rooms reflect the brand’s upscale positioning, combining functionality with comfort to cater to both short and extended stays.

The introduction of this inventory marks a significant addition to the city’s hospitality landscape, which has traditionally been dominated by unbranded or limited-service properties.

    Dining and Social Experiences

The hotel introduces multiple dining concepts that contribute to its positioning as a social and culinary destination within the city. These include Republic of Noodles, the brand’s signature Pan-Asian restaurant, Citrus Café for all-day dining, Slounge as a contemporary recreation bar, and a Tea Lounge designed for informal meetings and relaxation.

These outlets are expected to serve not only in-house guests but also the local community, creating a new hub for dining and social interaction in Biratnagar.

    Event and Meeting Infrastructure

The property is equipped with extensive banquet and meeting facilities, catering to both corporate and social events. The Tangerine ballroom, supported by a pre-function area, provides space for large gatherings, while a well-equipped boardroom addresses the needs of smaller, business-focused meetings.

This infrastructure positions the hotel as a venue for conferences, weddings, and other events, supporting the growing demand for organised event spaces in the region.

    Wellness and Recreation Facilities

Lemon Tree Premier Biratnagar also offers a range of recreational facilities designed to enhance the guest experience. These include the Fresco spa, a fitness centre, and a swimming pool, providing options for relaxation and wellness during the stay.

Such facilities contribute to a more comprehensive hospitality offering, catering to both business travellers and leisure guests.

    Leadership Perspective

Commenting on the opening, Vishvapreet Singh Cheema said,

“Biratnagar has always been the heart of Nepal’s commerce, and its transformation into a modern regional gateway is a journey we are proud to be part of. As the city’s infrastructure and connectivity modernize, there is a clear need for hospitality that matches this ambition. By bringing Lemon Tree Premier to Biratnagar, we aren’t just opening a hotel; we are making a long-term commitment to the city’s growth. Our goal is to provide a trusted, high-quality home base that offers unparalleled services to both global travellers and the local business community in this vital hub.”

    Strengthening Presence in Emerging Markets

The opening highlights Lemon Tree Hotels’ focus on entering emerging markets where demand for organised hospitality is growing. By establishing a presence in Biratnagar, the company is positioning itself to benefit from the city’s economic development and increasing travel demand.

    Supporting Regional Hospitality Growth

With improved infrastructure and growing business activity, Biratnagar is evolving into a key regional destination. The introduction of a branded upscale hotel supports this growth by offering consistent service standards and modern amenities.

    Expanding International Footprint

The launch of Lemon Tree Premier Biratnagar reinforces the company’s international expansion strategy, adding to its portfolio beyond India and strengthening its presence in South Asia.
