Welcomhotel by ITC Bengaluru has appointed Ankesh Kumar as Food and Beverage Manager – Head of Department (HOD). Kumar brings more than 15 years of hospitality experience across food and beverage and banquet operations, with a career spanning ITC Hotels, The Leela, Radisson Hotel Group, IHG Hotels & Resorts and Lemon Tree Hotels.
Kumar has been with ITC Hotels since 2024 and has previously held roles at ITC Maurya and ITC Grand Bharat. Before taking up his new position at Welcomhotel by ITC Bengaluru, he was involved in banquet operations at The Leela Bhartiya City Bengaluru, including the pre-opening and operational phases of the hotel and its convention facilities.
This appointment supports ITC’s organisational growth, contributing to leadership appointments in hospitality.
To Oversee Departmental Operations
In his new role, Kumar will oversee Food and Beverage operations at Welcomhotel by ITC Bengaluru, drawing on his experience across food and beverage and banquet functions.
His responsibilities will include managing day-to-day departmental activities while applying his experience in banquet operations, food and beverage management and team coordination. His previous exposure to hotel and convention facility operations also provides experience relevant to managing functions within a large hospitality environment.
More Than 15 Years Across Hospitality Operations
Kumar has built more than 15 years of experience across food and beverage and banquet operations.
Before joining Welcomhotel by ITC Bengaluru, he was associated with The Leela Bhartiya City Bengaluru, where he worked on the pre-opening and operations of the hotel and convention facilities.
He previously served as Banquet Manager with ITC Hotels. Since joining ITC Hotels in 2024, his career with the group has also included experience at ITC Maurya and ITC Grand Bharat.
Experience Across Leading Hotel Groups
Earlier in his career, Kumar held roles with Lemon Tree Hotels, Radisson Blu Dwarka, InterContinental Hotels Group, Westin Resort Macau and The Leela Palace Kempinski New Delhi.
His experience across these properties has covered banquet operations and food and beverage management, along with exposure to pre-opening activities, SOP development, menu planning and team management.
This progression has provided Kumar with experience across both operational and pre-opening environments, including hotel and convention facilities.
Focus on Banquet and Food & Beverage Operations
Kumar’s professional background has remained closely connected to banquet and food and beverage operations.
His experience in pre-opening projects has included operational setup, SOP development and menu planning, while his subsequent roles have involved departmental management and team coordination.
At Welcomhotel by ITC Bengaluru, this operational experience will support his responsibilities as Head of Department.

Kumar’s appointment adds to his progression within ITC Hotels, where he has been associated since 2024.
With experience across ITC properties as well as leading hospitality groups in India and overseas, he will bring a broad operational background to his new role at Welcomhotel by ITC Bengaluru.
