The Retreat Turks & Caicos has appointed Layvern Daniel as Hotel Manager ahead of the boutique hotel’s scheduled opening in October 2026. Daniel will lead the property through its pre-opening and opening phases, overseeing operational standards, team development and guest experience.
Daniel brings more than 12 years of luxury Caribbean hospitality experience across resort operations, guest relations, housekeeping, concierge services, sales, reservations and operational strategy. Her cross-functional background spans both guest-facing and commercial functions, providing experience across multiple areas of resort management.

To Lead Pre-Opening and Hotel Operations
As Hotel Manager, Daniel will lead The Retreat Turks & Caicos through its pre-opening preparations and opening phase.
Her responsibilities will include establishing operational and service standards, developing the hotel team and supporting the delivery of the guest experience. She will also coordinate across departments as the property prepares to welcome its first guests.
Her experience across guest services, reservations, concierge operations and operational strategy will contribute to the development of the hotel’s operating processes ahead of its scheduled October 2026 opening.
More Than 12 Years in Caribbean Hospitality
Daniel brings more than 12 years of experience in luxury Caribbean hospitality, with a career spanning resort operations and a range of guest-facing and commercial functions.
Her experience includes pre-arrival services, concierge operations, VIP guest requests, service recovery, reservations and team training. She has also worked with marketing teams and ownership on management and brand optimisation.
Daniel has developed relationships with travel advisors, tour operators and industry partners, while gaining exposure to luxury travel networks and programmes including Small Luxury Hotels of the World and other international travel networks.
Experience Across Guest Services and Commercial Functions
Daniel’s career has covered a broad range of hospitality responsibilities, including housekeeping, guest relations, concierge services, sales and reservations.
Her experience in service recovery and VIP guest requests has provided exposure to guest satisfaction and service delivery, while her work with travel advisors, tour operators and industry partners has strengthened her understanding of the commercial side of luxury hospitality.
She has also been involved in quality assurance, interdepartmental coordination and staff development, adding operational leadership experience to her guest service background.
Recognition for Leadership and Development
Daniel was named Manager of the Year in 2025 and was selected for the Caribbean Hotel and Tourism Association’s Young Leaders Forum for 2025–2026.
Her professional development has included a master’s degree in Sustainable Management of Tourism and a bachelor’s degree from Monroe College.
She is proficient in English, Spanish and St. Lucian Creole, adding multilingual capability to her experience across Caribbean hospitality.

The Retreat Turks & Caicos is a locally developed boutique hotel in Grace Bay, Providenciales, founded by Turks and Caicos Islander Trevor Musgrove.
