Courtyard by Marriott Mumbai International Airport has appointed Mahesh Shetty as Director of Sales, strengthening its commercial leadership as the property continues to build its presence in Mumbai’s airport district. Shetty brings close to two decades of hospitality sales experience, with expertise across corporate, MICE, transient and banquet business.
He joins the hotel from JW Marriott Mumbai Juhu, where he most recently served as Associate Director of Sales. During his tenure, he led proactive sales initiatives across transient and MICE segments, contributed to room night revenue growth and developed incremental business from production houses. His earlier career includes associations with Grand Hyatt Mumbai, Novotel Mumbai Juhu Beach and Waterstones Hotel.
The appointment strengthens Marriott’s team, contributing to hospitality leadership updates.
Mahesh Shetty Takes Charge of Sales
In his new role, Shetty will be responsible for driving room and banquet revenues at Courtyard by Marriott Mumbai International Airport. His mandate will include strengthening relationships with existing corporate accounts while developing new business opportunities across the hotel’s catchment.
His experience in MICE and corporate sales will be particularly relevant to the property’s commercial strategy, given Mumbai’s large corporate and events market and the hotel’s location near the international airport.
Shetty will also work on expanding the hotel’s business base while building on relationships and commercial momentum already established by the property.
Experience at JW Marriott Mumbai Juhu
Before joining Courtyard by Marriott Mumbai International Airport, Shetty was Associate Director of Sales at JW Marriott Mumbai Juhu. His responsibilities included leading proactive sales efforts for transient and MICE business.
During his tenure, he received the President’s Circle Award for two consecutive years. He also contributed to room night revenue growth of 100% and generated incremental business from production houses.
His experience at JW Marriott Mumbai Juhu further strengthened his exposure to corporate accounts, MICE business and revenue generation, while giving him experience in identifying new sources of business.
Career Across Leading Mumbai Hotels
Shetty’s hospitality sales career also includes experience with Grand Hyatt Mumbai, Novotel Mumbai Juhu Beach and Waterstones Hotel.
Across these roles, he has worked on MICE, corporate and banquet revenue, developing a career focused on commercial performance and business development. His experience spans both account management and the identification of new business opportunities.
Working across different hotel environments in Mumbai has also given Shetty an understanding of the city’s competitive hospitality market and the requirements of corporate and event-driven business.

Corporate and MICE segments will remain central to Shetty’s responsibilities at Courtyard by Marriott Mumbai International Airport. His background includes working with business accounts, developing event-related opportunities and contributing to room and banquet revenues.
The hotel’s airport catchment provides opportunities across corporate travel, meetings and events. Shetty will focus on developing these segments while retaining existing business relationships and identifying new accounts.
His commercial responsibilities will cover both room and banquet revenues, allowing him to work across multiple areas of the hotel’s sales portfolio.
