Courtyard by Marriott Mumbai International Airport has appointed Avani Dedhia as Marketing Communications Manager, strengthening its marketing and communications leadership with a professional who brings more than 17 years of experience across hospitality, luxury, lifestyle and media.
Dedhia joins from ICONIQA Hotel, where she most recently served as Director of Marketing. She previously worked as Marketing & Communications Manager at Courtyard by Marriott Navi Mumbai, where she was involved from the property’s pre-opening phase. Her wider career includes roles with Absolute Hotel Services India, Tropicana Resort & Spa Alibaug and Time Out Mumbai Magazine.
The move contributes to Marriott’s organisational strength, reinforcing hotel appointments.
Avani Dedhia Takes Charge of Marketing Communications
In her new role, Dedhia will oversee marketing, communications and brand positioning for Courtyard by Marriott Mumbai International Airport. She will work closely with the sales, F&B and culinary teams to strengthen the property’s visibility and communication across its key markets.
Her responsibilities will include shaping the hotel’s storytelling, supporting brand positioning and developing relationships with media, guests and the local community. The role combines external communications with the wider marketing requirements of the property.
Dedhia’s experience across hospitality and media provides exposure to both hotel marketing and content-led communication, which will support her responsibilities at the Mumbai airport property.
Experience at ICONIQA Hotel
Before joining Courtyard by Marriott Mumbai International Airport, Dedhia served as Director of Marketing at ICONIQA Hotel. The role added senior-level hotel marketing experience to a career that has included communications, public relations and brand-focused responsibilities.
Her work across hospitality has covered marketing and communications, with a focus on developing visibility and engagement for hotel and lifestyle properties.
Prior to ICONIQA Hotel, Dedhia was associated with Courtyard by Marriott Navi Mumbai as Marketing & Communications Manager. She joined the property during its pre-opening phase, gaining experience in establishing marketing and communications activities as a hotel prepared to enter the market.
Return to Marriott International
Dedhia’s appointment at Courtyard by Marriott Mumbai International Airport also marks a return to Marriott International.
Her earlier experience at Courtyard by Marriott Navi Mumbai gave her familiarity with the brand and its marketing environment. The new appointment brings her back to Marriott in a different location and with broader experience gained through subsequent leadership roles.
Her background within the group, combined with her wider hospitality marketing career, will support her responsibilities in developing the Mumbai airport property’s brand communication.
From Media to Hospitality
Dedhia’s career has included both media and hospitality, with marketing and communications serving as a common thread. Earlier in her professional journey, she worked with Time Out Mumbai Magazine, gaining experience in print media and publishing.
Her work in publishing brought her into contact with authors and editorial content, adding a strong storytelling component to her professional background. Her interest in the F&B landscape subsequently contributed to her move into hospitality.
She later developed her career through marketing, communications and public relations roles with organisations including Absolute Hotel Services India and Tropicana Resort & Spa Alibaug.
