Auberge Collection has appointed Joern Schwaiger as General Manager of Bowie House in Fort Worth, Texas. Schwaiger joins the property with extensive international hospitality experience spanning hotel operations, rooms, food and beverage and leadership roles across multiple markets.
Schwaiger joins Bowie House from The Inn at Mattei’s Tavern, Auberge Resorts Collection, where he served as General Manager from March 2024. In that role, he was responsible for the hotel’s operations and team leadership. He now moves to Bowie House as the Fort Worth property continues to develop its presence within the Auberge Collection portfolio.
The appointment reinforces the hospitality sector’s organisational direction, contributing to hotel appointments.
To Lead Bowie House Operations
As General Manager, Schwaiger will oversee the operations of Bowie House and lead its team. His responsibilities will cover the property’s day-to-day performance, service delivery and team management as the hotel continues to establish its position within the Auberge Collection.
His experience across both rooms and food and beverage operations will provide a broad operational foundation for his new role.
From The Inn at Mattei’s Tavern to Bowie House
Before joining Bowie House, Schwaiger served as General Manager of The Inn at Mattei’s Tavern, Auberge Resorts Collection, from March 2024.
Prior to that, he was Director of Operations at Fairmont Grand Del Mar in San Diego from November 2018 to February 2024, overseeing operational functions at the property.
His career also includes senior leadership roles across Fairmont properties in Singapore, the Philippines, Beijing, Dubai, New York and Boston.
International Experience Across Rooms and Food & Beverage
Schwaiger served as Executive Assistant Manager, Food and Beverage at Fairmont Singapore & Swissôtel The Stamford before moving to the Philippines, where he was Director of Food and Beverage at Raffles and Fairmont Makati.
At Fairmont Beijing, he held several leadership positions, including Director of Rooms and Director of Food and Beverage, gaining experience across two core areas of hotel operations.
Earlier in his career, Schwaiger held several food and beverage roles at The Fairmont Dubai. These included Manager Lobby Level F&B Outlets, Manager Cascades and Bridges, Banquet Manager and In Room Dining Manager.
He began his career at Fairmont Copley Plaza Boston as In Room Dining Manager, establishing his foundation in food and beverage operations before progressing into broader leadership positions.
Broadening Operational Leadership
Schwaiger’s career progression has taken him from specialist food and beverage roles into senior operational and general management positions.
His experience across rooms, food and beverage and overall hotel operations has included assignments in the United States, Asia and the Middle East. His recent positions as Director of Operations and General Manager have further expanded his responsibilities across hotel performance and team leadership.
Supporting Bowie House’s Next Phase
At Bowie House, Schwaiger will bring experience from Auberge Resorts Collection and Fairmont properties across multiple international markets.
His appointment places an experienced operator at the helm of the Fort Worth property as it continues to develop its presence within the Auberge Collection portfolio, with his background spanning the core operational areas of luxury hospitality.
