The Westin Resort & Spa, Himalayas has appointed Prakash Thapa as Loss Prevention Manager, strengthening its leadership in safety, security, and risk management.
With over a decade of experience in hospitality security, Prakash brings expertise in loss prevention, risk assessment, emergency preparedness, compliance, fire and life safety, and operational security.

In his new role, Prakash will oversee the resort’s loss prevention operations, including security management, emergency response planning, compliance, risk assessment, and fire and life safety protocols, while supporting a safe and secure environment for guests and associates.
Prior to joining The Westin Resort & Spa, Himalayas, he served as Security Manager at Hyatt Regency Dharamshala Resort, where he managed security operations, safety standards, and regulatory compliance.
His professional journey also includes key roles at Hyatt Place Bharuch and Taj Chia Kutir Resort & Spa, Darjeeling, where he was part of the pre-opening teams, contributing to the successful implementation of security systems and operational procedures. He began his hospitality career at Taj Mahal, New Delhi, building a strong foundation in luxury hotel security.
Over the years, Prakash has managed security operations across luxury hospitality environments, including coordinating security arrangements for high-profile guests, VIPs, and official delegations. His expertise also includes emergency response planning, compliance audits, and close coordination with local authorities to ensure operational readiness.
