    IHCL Signs 78-Key Gateway Patnitop in Jammu & Kashmir

    Indian Hotels Company (IHCL), India’s largest hospitality company, has announced the signing of a new hotel under its Gateway brand in Patnitop, Jammu & Kashmir. The project is a conversion with planned expansion and marks a strategic entry into a location known for winter travel and growing leisure demand.

    Leadership Statement

    Ms. Suma Venkatesh, Executive Vice President – Real Estate & Development, IHCL, said,

    “Patnitop is a hidden gem in Jammu & Kashmir, offering travellers a quick winter escape. With the largest room inventory in the destination, this Gateway resort will cater to the growing demand from Punjab, Delhi NCR and Jammu. Serving as a gateway to the Himalayas, this signing aligns with our strategy to expand the brand in such leisure markets. We are delighted to partner with FIL Industries Private Limited for this project.”

    Hotel Overview

    Located in a serene natural setting, the 78-key Gateway Patnitop, Jammu & Kashmir will give guests access to the region’s scenic landscape. The hotel will feature an all-day dining restaurant, a specialty restaurant, and a bar. Guests will have access to two swimming pools, including a heated pool, a fitness centre, and treatment rooms. For social and corporate events, the hotel will offer a banquet hall of more than 4,000 sq. ft., suited for gatherings and functions.

    Mr. Owais Altaf Syed, Director, FIL Industries Private Limited, said,

    “We are happy to collaborate with IHCL to bring the Gateway brand to Patnitop. This partnership with IHCL marks a significant milestone in enhancing the region’s hospitality landscape.”

    Destination Context

    Patnitop is a hill station surrounded by pine forests and snow-covered peaks. Travellers can engage in activities such as trekking, skiing and paragliding. Key attractions include Natha Top and Billo Ki Powri. Patnitop continues to attract visitors looking for adventure, scenic views, and access to the Himalayan region.

    With this addition, IHCL will operate 12 hotels in Jammu & Kashmir, including 6 under development.

    As Director at FIL Industries Private Limited, Mr. Owais Altaf Syed oversees the Ropeway Management and Hospitality divisions. The company has been awarded the ropeway project connecting Dehradun to Mussoorie and the Yamunotri Ropeway Project.
