Courtyard by Marriott Tiruchirappalli has announced the appointment of Assim Sherif as its new General Manager. A seasoned hotelier with over 17 years of experience, Assim brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise gained from working with leading international hospitality brands.
He began his career in the Front Office, steadily advancing through the ranks by demonstrating a strong commitment to excellence, guest satisfaction, and team leadership. Over the years, Assim has worked with renowned hotel chains such as Marriott, IHG, Hilton, and Sarovar across India and the Middle East, gaining diverse experience in operations and strategic management.

Prior to this role, Assim served as Hotel Manager at Four Points by Sheraton Mahabalipuram Resort and Convention Center, where he was recognized as one of Chennai’s youngest and most dynamic hospitality leaders, consistently driving guest engagement and operational performance.
Located in the heart of Tiruchirappalli, Courtyard by Marriott Tiruchirappalli is the city’s first international five-star hotel. With 108 contemporary rooms and suites, the property is designed to cater to both business and leisure travelers. Its 18,000 sq. ft. event space, accommodating up to 650 guests in theatre-style seating, makes it a premier venue for conferences, weddings, and social gatherings. Guests can enjoy a selection of global and regional delicacies at Trichy Kitchen, unwind at Soma Bar, or relax at T Lounge. In his new role, Assim will focus on positioning the hotel as the preferred destination for travelers in the region, while strengthening Marriott International’s presence in Tiruchirappalli.
