Akasa Air has expanded its network with new connections and increased flight frequencies across key routes, taking its daily departures beyond 200. The airline’s latest expansion reflects its focus on strengthening connectivity between major economic centres and emerging destinations while offering travellers greater choice, convenient schedules and improved access to domestic and international markets.
The expansion covers key regions across India, including North, South and East India, alongside increased frequencies on high-demand metro routes and a gradual extension of its international network.
Akasa Air Crosses 200 Daily Departures
Anand Srinivasan, Co-Founder and Chief Commercial Officer, Akasa Air, said,
“When we launched Akasa Air four years ago, we saw a compelling opportunity to build a meaningful airline in one of the world’s fastest-growing aviation markets. The scale and depth of our network today reflect the deliberate choices we have made by building greater frequency in markets where demand is deepening, strengthening links between major economic centres and emerging destinations, and progressively expanding our international footprint. Our approach goes beyond adding capacity; it is about making travel more relevant and rewarding through better schedules, greater choice, and a flying experience that is warm, dependable and distinctly Akasa. As we scale, we remain focused on combining disciplined growth with service excellence, while building an experience-led carrier that plays an integral role in India’s aviation growth story.”
The airline’s expanded schedule reflects its focus on adding frequencies where demand is growing, improving connections between important commercial centres and increasing access to emerging markets.
North India: Expanding Connectivity from Delhi, Jaipur and Udaipur
Akasa Air has strengthened its presence in Delhi, operating 196 weekly departures with nonstop connectivity to 14 cities. The expanded schedule includes one daily flight between Delhi and Visakhapatnam, two daily flights to Mumbai, and one daily flight each to Bengaluru and Goa.
The increased frequencies provide travellers with additional departure options across the day and strengthen Delhi’s connections with major metropolitan and non-metropolitan markets.
The airline has also commenced operations from Jaipur and Udaipur, connecting both cities to Bengaluru and Mumbai through daily direct flights. Its North India network has been further expanded with daily direct services from Chandigarh to Bengaluru and Goa.
South India: Scaling Operations Across Key Markets
Akasa Air has increased its presence across South India, with expansion led by Bengaluru, Kochi and Kozhikode. From Bengaluru, the airline offers nonstop connectivity to 19 domestic destinations and three international destinations: Abu Dhabi, Phuket and Jeddah.
Additional frequencies across key metropolitan and regional routes are strengthening Bengaluru’s role as an important hub within the airline’s network.
The airline has also substantially expanded its operations in Kerala, with increased departures from Kozhikode supported by domestic and international services. The additional capacity strengthens its presence across South India while improving connectivity for travellers within the region and to overseas destinations.
East India: Kolkata Operations Reach 95 Weekly Departures
Akasa Air has increased its operations from Kolkata to 95 weekly departures, offering nonstop connectivity to eight destinations. The airline has also established a crew base in the city to support the growing scale of its operations.
The expansion reinforces Kolkata’s position within Akasa Air’s network and provides a foundation for further growth across Eastern India. Increased flight availability is expected to give passengers more options for travel to domestic destinations served by the airline.
Higher Frequencies on Major Metro Routes
Akasa Air continues to increase frequencies across some of India’s busiest metropolitan corridors. The airline operates six daily flights between Mumbai and Delhi, complemented by one daily flight between Navi Mumbai and Delhi.
The Bengaluru-Delhi route operates five times daily, while Delhi-Kolkata services operate twice daily, with morning and evening departures.
These additional frequencies provide greater scheduling flexibility for business and leisure travellers, supporting travel across major commercial centres and improving choice throughout the day.
Akasa Air’s network expansion reflects its strategy of increasing capacity in markets with growing demand, strengthening domestic connectivity and gradually extending its international presence. With daily departures now exceeding 200, the airline continues to expand its role in India’s aviation market while focusing on service quality and operational growth.
