Adani Airport Holdings Limited (AAHL) has launched Swirl Transit Hotel, an 80-room transit hotel at Navi Mumbai International Airport (NMIA), providing passengers with an on-airport accommodation option for short stays, long layovers and overnight requirements.
Located on the Arrivals Level of Terminal 1, the two-floor property offers four-hour and overnight stays. The hotel is designed to serve passengers with early departures, late arrivals and extended waiting periods, while providing facilities for rest, work and refreshment within the airport environment.
The addition supports the hospitality sector’s expansion strategy, aligning with hospitality developments.Swirl Transit Hotel Opens at NMIA
Swirl Transit Hotel has been introduced as part of the growing passenger services ecosystem at Navi Mumbai International Airport. Its location within Terminal 1 allows travellers to access accommodation without having to leave the airport premises.
The hotel is positioned around flexible stays, with guests able to choose between four-hour and overnight options. Facilities include shower access, dining and hotel services aimed at passengers requiring a place to rest or work between flights.
Suchit Bansal, Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Non-Aero Business, AAHL, said:
“Swirl Transit Hotel brings accommodation into the airport environment, giving travellers greater flexibility to rest, work or refresh between flights. Navi Mumbai International Airport is being developed as a large-scale aviation and passenger services hub, and offerings such as Swirl add to the convenience of travelling through the airport. We see an opportunity to take this proposition to other airports across our network and build a wider transit hospitality offering.”
Six Room Categories
The 80-room property features six room categories, with room sizes ranging from 130 sq. ft. to 410 sq. ft. The categories comprise Superior Single, Superior Double, Superior Twin, Superior Accessible, Junior Suite and Executive Suite rooms.
Guestroom facilities include high-speed Wi-Fi, smart televisions, dedicated workstations, electronic safes and tea and coffee-making facilities. Rooms are also equipped with premium bed and bath linen and toiletries.
The hotel offers in-room dining alongside a range of additional services, including express laundry, concierge assistance, 24-hour housekeeping, pick-up and drop services and wake-up calls.
Dining and 24-Hour Guest Services
Swirl Transit Hotel includes a 24-hour all-day dining restaurant with seating for 40 guests. The property also provides round-the-clock in-room dining, grab-and-go options and a bar.
The combination of dining and 24-hour services is designed to accommodate passengers arriving or departing at different times of the day, particularly those using the hotel for short stays or overnight requirements.
The dedicated workstations in guestrooms also provide an option for business travellers to continue working while waiting for connecting or onward flights.
Passenger Services at Navi Mumbai International Airport
Navi Mumbai International Airport is one of India’s major greenfield international airport projects, developed to serve the growing aviation requirements of the Mumbai Metropolitan Region.
The airport commenced commercial operations on December 25, 2025, before beginning international operations on July 29, 2026, with its first international flight to Abu Dhabi.
The launch of Swirl Transit Hotel adds an accommodation component to the airport’s growing range of passenger and non-aeronautical services. The property is aimed specifically at travellers who require flexibility around flight schedules rather than conventional hotel stays outside the airport.
Swirl Transit Hotel to Expand to Guwahati
AAHL plans to extend the Swirl Transit Hotel concept to Guwahati, with a 21-room property planned at Lokpriya Gopinath Bardoloi International Airport (LGBIA).
The proposed hotel will be located on Level 3 of the Arrivals area within the airport-secured zone of Terminal 2. It is planned to offer hourly and overnight stays, along with dining and hospitality services.
The Guwahati property will cater to transit passengers, arriving travellers, departing passengers with extended waiting periods and business travellers. Dedicated workstations and meeting-friendly spaces are planned to support guests who need to attend to work while between flights.
Building an Airport Transit Hospitality Network
The launch of Swirl Transit Hotel at Navi Mumbai International Airport establishes an airport-based hospitality format focused on short-duration stays and passenger convenience. The proposed Guwahati property indicates that AAHL intends to extend the concept beyond NMIA.
With flexible stay durations, dining, work facilities and round-the-clock services, the Swirl model is designed around the requirements of passengers who spend extended periods within airport environments.
The expansion of the concept across AAHL’s airport network could add a dedicated transit accommodation offering to the passenger services available at its airports.
