Professional Housekeepers Association (PHA) has announced the 8th edition of the National Housekeepers Convention, scheduled to take place on 30 May 2026 at Eros Hotel New Delhi. The convention will bring together housekeeping professionals and hospitality leaders from across India for a focused day of learning, dialogue, and knowledge exchange.

Positioning housekeeping as a strategic function

The 2026 convention is being organised around the theme “Stewards of Standards”, reflecting the evolving role of housekeeping leaders in modern hospitality. No longer confined to back-of-house functions, housekeeping teams today play a central role in upholding quality benchmarks, guest safety, brand consistency, and asset protection, while also contributing to sustainability and operational resilience.

The theme underscores accountability and leadership in maintaining and elevating standards, particularly as hotels adapt to new technologies, changing guest expectations, and increasing regulatory and hygiene requirements.

Leadership in the art and science of housekeeping

The convention title, “Leadership in the Art and Science of Housekeeping,” captures the dual nature of the profession. The “art” represents attention to detail, aesthetics, and guest-centric care, while the “science” highlights systems, processes, technology adoption, hygiene protocols, and performance measurement. By emphasising leadership, the convention places housekeeping professionals at the centre of service excellence and operational efficiency.

    Convention inspiration: Care, Create, Elevate

The narrative of the 8th National Housekeepers Convention is anchored in three guiding principles.
Care focuses on responsibility towards guests, teams, assets, and the environment.
Create encourages innovation, problem-solving, and the adoption of smarter tools and processes.
Elevate highlights continuous improvement, professional growth, and the pursuit of higher standards across housekeeping and facilities management.

Together, the theme, title, and inspiration position housekeeping leaders as guardians of standards and drivers of excellence in hospitality operations.

Building on the success of the 2025 edition

The announcement follows a highly successful 7th National Housekeepers Convention held on 17 May 2025 in Bangalore. The 2025 edition attracted over 220 delegates, including Executive Housekeepers, Directors of Rooms, Operations Heads, and hospitality solution providers. Sessions focused on talent development, operational efficiency, sustainable housekeeping practices, and technology integration.

Key highlights included strategic keynote sessions on workforce empowerment, case studies from major hotel chains on linen management and cleanliness analytics, solution showcases featuring automation and eco-friendly products, and strong discussions around skill development and career pathways for housekeeping professionals.

Focus areas for the 2026 convention

Building on this momentum, the 2026 convention will spotlight emerging trends shaping housekeeping and facilities operations. These include AI-assisted workflows, sustainability standards, structured workforce training frameworks, digital quality assurance practices, and process excellence across housekeeping functions.

The event is expected to attract over 300 participants, including housekeeping professionals, operations leaders, procurement heads, hospitality educators, and leading suppliers of housekeeping products and solutions.

    Leadership perspectives

Commenting on the announcement, Jayashree Nagaraj, Founder President and Chairperson, PHA, said,

“Housekeeping has transitioned from a back-of-house function to a strategic pillar in hospitality operations. The overwhelming participation and quality of discourse at the 2025 Convention in Bangalore reaffirmed the industry’s commitment to excellence. In 2026, we aim to deepen this conversation with actionable insights and practical solutions tailored to modern operational realities.”

Adding to this, Bharti Singh Kalappa, Founder Member, National Vice President and VP Operations, PHA – North Chapter, said,

“The New Delhi edition will extend the learning trajectory established in Bangalore, emphasizing operational innovation, sustainable practices, skill enhancement, and technologies that amplify housekeeping performance. We are curating an agenda that resonates with the challenges and aspirations of housekeeping leaders across hotel segments.”
