Moxy Mumbai Andheri West has appointed Riya D’Souza as Human Resources Manager, bringing more than five years of hospitality HR experience across talent acquisition, employee engagement, learning and development, employee lifecycle management and HR operations.
D’Souza joins Moxy Mumbai Andheri West from The Westin Mumbai Garden City, where she served as Assistant Manager – Human Resources from September 2023. Her career has included roles with Marriott properties and The Machan Resorts, covering recruitment, onboarding, employee engagement, training, payroll, administration and other core human resources functions.
This move contributes to the hospitality sector’s leadership development, aligning with leadership appointments in hospitality.
Riya D’Souza to Lead HR Functions at Moxy Mumbai Andheri West
In her new role, D’Souza will oversee the human resources function at Moxy Mumbai Andheri West. Her responsibilities will include talent acquisition, employee engagement, learning and development, employee lifecycle management and day-to-day HR operations.
Her experience across recruitment, workforce administration, employee development and engagement will support the property’s people-related processes. The role will also involve coordinating HR activities across different stages of the employee lifecycle.
Experience at The Westin Mumbai Garden City
Before joining Moxy Mumbai Andheri West, D’Souza was associated with The Westin Mumbai Garden City as Assistant Manager – Human Resources from September 2023.
During her tenure, she handled recruitment and selection, onboarding and exit formalities, employee engagement, leave and attendance management, training, vendor management and administration.
The role expanded her exposure across both employee-facing and administrative aspects of hotel human resources, including recruitment processes, employee engagement initiatives and workforce-related operations.
More Than Four Years with Courtyard by Marriott
Earlier, D’Souza spent more than four years with Courtyard by Marriott Mumbai International Airport as Human Resources Executive.
Her responsibilities included payroll, recruitment and selection, onboarding and exit processes, leave and attendance management and employee training. The position provided her with experience across several core HR processes within a Marriott hotel environment.
Her progression from Human Resources Executive to Assistant Manager – Human Resources reflects her movement into broader responsibilities covering recruitment, employee engagement, training and HR administration.
Career Began with The Machan Resorts
D’Souza began her hospitality career with The Machan Resorts, where she gained experience in human resources as well as hotel operations.
This early experience provided a foundation for her subsequent career in hospitality HR. She later moved into dedicated human resources roles with Marriott properties, building experience across recruitment, employee administration, training and engagement.
Recognition and Leadership Development
D’Souza received the Executive of the Year – 2022 award in the Heart of the House category. She also completed Marriott International’s Leadership Development Program (LEAD) in April 2023.
Her professional experience has been supported by academic qualifications in management and human resources. She holds an MBA in Human Resources Management from NMIMS and a Bachelor’s degree in Management Studies from the University of Mumbai.
