InterContinental Jaipur Tonk Road will welcome the festive season with a sustainable Tree Lighting Ceremony on 10 December 2025 at 6:00 PM. The event will unveil a Christmas installation made entirely from reclaimed heritage wood. The celebration will be followed by an exclusive GM’s Table at House of Han with influencers, underscoring the hotel’s focus on community, craft and conscious luxury.
The installation reflects a clear narrative of reinvention and purpose. After the hotel’s recent restoration, General Manager Stephen D’souza led the idea of repurposing old teak and rosewood flooring that previously lined the suites. Each plank, marked by years of footsteps and time-worn details, was preserved and transformed into a twelve-foot geometric structure now placed in the atrium.
The engineering and housekeeping teams worked for three weeks to bring the concept to life. The reclaimed wood was hand-sorted to highlight natural aging, scratches, softened corners and grain variations that hold the hotel’s history. Light sanding and no paint keep the surface honest, while warm lighting completes the installation.
General Manager Stephen D’souza said:
“This installation is a reminder that luxury is most meaningful when it carries purpose. By creating our Christmas tree from reclaimed wood, we are honouring our legacy while embracing sustainability in a tangible way. Supporting Project Atmanirbhar as part of this celebration further strengthens that narrative because the festive spirit is not only about illumination, but about empowering communities and giving back. Together, these efforts reflect the values we stand for: responsibility, creativity, and heartfelt hospitality.”
The installation represents InterContinental Jaipur’s commitment to mindful luxury, environmental responsibility and community-driven impact.

CSR Association
As part of its CSR commitment, InterContinental Jaipur Tonk Road has partnered with NGO Naya Sawera’s Project Atmanirbhar. The initiative supports financially vulnerable women through skill training and livelihood development. Established in 2023, the programme trains women in tailoring and handcrafted product creation using donated pure cotton fabric. The items include sling bags, tote bags, pouches, laptop sleeves, kurtis and utility accessories.
The project runs on a profit-sharing model where revenue is shared between the women artisans, children in shelter homes and the programme’s growth. To date, Project Atmanirbhar has supported more than 22 families, helping women work toward financial independence and long-term stability. During the Tree Lighting Ceremony, guests will be able to purchase handcrafted products and directly support the initiative.
