IHG Hotels & Resorts has signed a franchise agreement with Yamini Marketing’s (OPC) Pvt. Ltd for the development of voco Resort Kanatal, which will be operated under the management of United Hospitality Management (UHM) India, one of IHG’s third-party management partners in the country. Scheduled to open in 2030, the 92-key resort will expand IHG’s premium portfolio and bring the voco brand to an emerging leisure destination in North India.
Located in the hills of Uttarakhand’s Tehri Garhwal district, the resort is being developed as a premium mountain retreat focused on nature-led escapes, wellness stays and intimate celebrations. The property will combine accommodation with dining, events and recreational facilities, creating an offering aimed at leisure travellers, families, wellness guests and boutique events.

The upcoming resort will comprise 92 guestrooms designed around the requirements of travellers seeking a mountain getaway. The property will also feature meeting and event spaces, allowing it to accommodate intimate celebrations, corporate gatherings and other events.
Its location in Kanatal places the resort within the scenic landscape of Tehri Garhwal, while its positioning as a premium mountain property is aimed at travellers looking for shorter breaks and nature-focused stays.
Three dining options planned
voco Resort Kanatal will feature three dining options, comprising an all-day dining restaurant, a specialty restaurant and a bar.
The food and beverage offering will form part of the resort’s overall leisure proposition, providing guests with dining options within the property while supporting social and celebratory occasions.
The combination of accommodation, dining and event facilities is intended to create a comprehensive resort experience in the mountain destination.
Wellness and family facilities
The resort will include a swimming pool, spa and fitness centre, extending its offering to guests seeking wellness and recreational experiences during their stay.
A dedicated kids’ play area will also be part of the property, adding a family-oriented element to the resort. Together with the event and dining facilities, these amenities are designed to serve a broad range of leisure requirements.

IHG expands resort portfolio in India
The Kanatal signing adds another property to IHG’s development pipeline in India and expands the presence of the voco brand in the country’s leisure markets.
IHG currently has 53 hotels operating across seven brands in India, including Six Senses, InterContinental Hotels and Resorts, Vignette Collection, Crowne Plaza, voco Hotels, Holiday Inn Resort and Holiday Inn Express. The company has a pipeline of 110 hotels scheduled to open over the next three to five years.
With its planned 2030 opening, voco Resort Kanatal will add 92 keys to Uttarakhand’s mountain hospitality offering, alongside dining, wellness, events and family facilities.
