Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL) has announced the signing of a 100-key Ginger hotel in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, through an operating lease agreement. The greenfield development will strengthen the company’s presence in the state and expand its accommodation offering in one of North India’s important pilgrimage and commercial destinations.
The project is being developed in partnership with The Jagmal Group through its subsidiary, Jagmal Logistics and Industrial Parks Pvt. Ltd. The proposed hotel will operate under IHCL’s Ginger brand, targeting business and leisure travellers with contemporary accommodation, dining and meeting facilities.
Ginger Prayagraj to Feature 100 Rooms and Qmin Restaurant
The upcoming Ginger Prayagraj will feature 100 rooms designed around the brand’s Lean Luxe hospitality concept, which combines contemporary design with functional accommodation.
The hotel’s food and beverage facilities will include Qmin, Ginger’s signature all-day dining restaurant, serving local and international cuisine, alongside a bar.
Additional amenities will include meeting facilities and a fitness centre, catering to corporate travellers, business visitors and leisure guests.
The property is planned to provide access to Prayagraj’s commercial, industrial and cultural centres, positioning it to serve different travel segments.
IHCL Strengthens Presence in Uttar Pradesh
The signing forms part of IHCL’s strategy to expand its presence in high-potential hospitality markets across India.
Suma Venkatesh, Executive Vice President – Real Estate & Development, IHCL, said:
“Prayagraj is a key pilgrimage and tourism destination in Uttar Pradesh, driven by its deep spiritual and cultural significance. The Jagmal Group Partners with IHCL for Hotel Development
The project marks a hospitality development partnership between IHCL and The Jagmal Group.
Shivam Chauhan, Managing Director, The Jagmal Group, said:
“We are pleased to partner with IHCL to bring the Ginger brand to Prayagraj, and look forward to developing a contemporary hotel that will cater to the evolving needs of travellers visiting the region.”
The Jagmal Group’s business background includes glass manufacturing, logistics and industrial infrastructure.

Its subsidiary, Jagmal Logistics and Industrial Park, was established in 2014 by Pratap Chauhan and operates a logistics and industrial park in Naini, Prayagraj.
Prayagraj’s Pilgrimage and Industrial Economy Supports Hotel Demand
Prayagraj is an important administrative, cultural and economic centre in Uttar Pradesh.
The city’s religious significance attracts pilgrimage travel, while its industrial economy includes engineering, manufacturing, aerospace, logistics and FMCG activities.
These sectors contribute to accommodation demand from corporate visitors, industrial professionals and business travellers.
The proposed Ginger hotel will cater to these segments while providing an additional branded accommodation option for visitors travelling to Prayagraj.
Greenfield Signing Supports Ginger’s Expansion Strategy
The 100-key development will add to Ginger’s growing portfolio of hotels across India’s business and tourism destinations.
The operating lease arrangement allows IHCL to expand the brand through a partnership with a regional business group.
The signing strengthens IHCL’s development pipeline in Uttar Pradesh, where the company is expanding across pilgrimage destinations and commercial markets.
A construction timeline and expected opening date have not been disclosed.
