The Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL) has signed an agreement to develop a 120‑room Taj-branded hotel at Naina Tikker in Sirmaur district, Himachal Pradesh. The company said the brownfield project represents its entry into a lesser-known hill station, strengthening its presence in the northern state.
The upcoming Taj Naina Tikker will offer panoramic views of the Dhauladhar mountain range and encompass several guest experiences. The resort will include an all‑day dining restaurant, a specialty restaurant, a bar and lobby lounge, plus a spacious 4,000 sq ft banquet hall, meeting rooms and pre‑function areas. Wellness amenities will include a heated pool, gym, health club, spa and an activity centre for leisure and group travellers.
Naina Tikker represents a unique opportunity for the Taj brand to mark its presence in a relatively unexplored part of Himachal Pradesh. With excellent connectivity and a location surrounded by a protected forest, it is poised to become a sought-after destination for leisure, MICE and social celebrations. This addition strengthens IHCL’s presence in the region enabling a travel circuit across Chandigarh, Chail, Theog, and Dehradun. We are delighted to further strengthen our partnership with Micro Turners Group. – Ms. Suma Venkatesh, Executive Vice President – Real Estate & Development, IHCL
The hotel is being developed in collaboration with Micro Turners Group, which will operate the property under IHCL’s Taj brand.
Sachin Kapoor and Sagarika Kapoor, representing the developer, said: “We are excited to partner with IHCL for another project and bring the iconic Taj brand to Naina Tikker. This collaboration will redefine luxury hospitality in the region and unlock the tourism potential of the state.”
Once operational, IHCL will manage a total of 13 hotels in Himachal Pradesh, including eight properties currently under development.
The signing follows IHCL’s broader expansion strategy in emerging destinations. Earlier in 2025, the company secured a conversion-based project in Chail, a renowned but off-beat hill station. That 100-room Taj resort will feature classic colonial architecture, contemporary amenities and one of the largest banqueting venues in the region.
Chail and Naina Tikker are intended to form part of a wider travel corridor linking key destinations across Himachal and adjoining regions. With enhanced connectivity and rising tourist demand, IHCL said it is committed to unlocking tourism potential through culturally immersive properties.
Taj Hotels remains the flagship luxury brand of IHCL and recently was ranked the World’s Strongest Hotel Brand 2025 by Brand Finance. The company manages a portfolio of approximately 400 hotels globally, with over 150 properties in development across multiple continents.
The Naina Tikker signing underlines IHCL’s ambition to extend its luxury offerings to under‑penetrated destinations. With wellness amenities, event infrastructure and nature-based appeal, the new resort aims to cater to both leisure and MICE travellers seeking upscale experiences in the Himalayan foothills.
