The Dharampal Satyapal Group (DS Group), a leading FMCG conglomerate and multi-business corporation, has expanded its hospitality portfolio in the Northeast with major developments at Radisson Blu Guwahati. The upgrade includes the region’s largest pillar-less convention centre and 85 new rooms, bringing the hotel’s inventory to 280 keys. The new centre spans 25,000 sq. ft., including a 15,000 sq. ft. pillar-less hall that can host 1,500 guests. This positions Radisson Blu Guwahati as the largest integrated convention and stay facility in the Northeast, addressing a clear gap in MICE and wedding infrastructure.
Strengthening MICE Capacity in the Northeast
The new 25,000 sq. ft. convention centre significantly improves the region’s ability to host large conferences, exhibitions and multi-day events with integrated accommodation. It is equally suited for weddings and social functions. The expansion supports DS Group’s strategy of identifying high-demand markets with strong long-term potential. Guwahati was selected for its emergence as a major economic hub and administrative centre.
