Prior to SLS Beverly Hills, Eberwein held General Manager positions at W Hollywood, W Las Vegas and W Los Angeles – Westwood. These assignments gave him experience leading hotels in major urban and destination markets, building a career that has combined operational leadership with commercial responsibilities.
His professional background also extends beyond individual hotel operations. Eberwein is involved with several Los Angeles tourism organisations, giving him an active role in the city’s broader hospitality and visitor economy.
He serves as Vice Chairman of the Los Angeles Tourism Marketing District Board and is a member of the Board of Directors for the Hotel Association of Los Angeles. He is also an Executive Board Member of the Los Angeles Tourism & Convention Board.
Guest Experience and Culinary Operations in Focus
Eberwein’s new responsibilities extend into the properties’ guest-facing and culinary operations. His focus will include room packages, partnerships and activations that connect the hotels with Los Angeles attractions and events, creating a direct link between the properties and the wider destination.
He will also oversee culinary operations across the hotels. This includes Sendero, the Latin-inspired restaurant located on the 24th floor of The Ritz-Carlton, Los Angeles, as well as Glance, the lobby bar at JW Marriott Los Angeles L.A. LIVE.
Eberwein brings additional culinary expertise to the role as a certified sommelier. He has previously been named Food & Wine Sommelier of the Year, adding a specialist dimension to his oversight of the properties’ food and beverage operations.
Leadership Aligned With Los Angeles’ Hospitality Landscape
Eberwein’s appointment brings together extensive hotel management experience with established involvement in Los Angeles’ tourism and hospitality sector. His previous General Manager roles across Los Angeles and Las Vegas, combined with his work with local tourism organisations, provide a background closely connected to the markets and stakeholders relevant to his new responsibilities.
At The Ritz-Carlton, Los Angeles, JW Marriott Los Angeles L.A. LIVE and The Ritz-Carlton Residences Los Angeles L.A. LIVE, his mandate covers a broad operating platform within the L.A. LIVE entertainment district. Alongside property operations, guest experience and culinary oversight, the role involves developing partnerships and activations that connect the hotels with the destination.
The appointment places Eberwein in charge of a multi-property operation with a strong presence in Los Angeles hospitality, while drawing on more than 20 years of hotel industry leadership and his existing engagement with the city’s tourism ecosystem.
