The Fern Hotels & Resorts has announced key internal promotions within its operations team aimed at reinforcing regional management, enhancing guest service and supporting sustainable growth, the company said Friday.
Arindam Bahel has been named general manager of operations for The Fern Brentwood Resort & Spa in Mussoorie. With over 20 years of hospitality experience, Bahel began as a management trainee and rose through roles in culinary and leadership at renowned properties such as The Ananta Udaipur and Nepal’s Hotel Yak & Yeti. He received the “Best General Manager of the Year” award in 2022–23. In his new position, Bahel will oversee hill, pilgrimage and eco-tourism destinations, aiming to enhance talent development, resilience and profitability across properties.
Gautam Banerjee has been elevated to general manager of operations for a cluster of hotels in Maharashtra operating under The Fern and Beacon brands. With a three-decade career that began at Ras Resorts Silvassa in 1995, Banerjee has led turnarounds and improved revenue performance for chains including Kamat Hotels, Absolute Hotels and Quality Inn by focusing on food and beverage operations.
Rajib Das now holds the role of general manager of operations for five hotels in Maharashtra. He brings over 24 years of industry experience from properties such as The Park, Taj Exotica and InterContinental Goa. Das, who holds a diploma in hotel management and professional credentials from Ecole Hôtelière de Lausanne, will work to optimize operational efficiency, cost control and guest experience.
Company officials said these promotions align with The Fern’s focus on operational excellence, sustainable practices and regional leadership as the group manages more than 100 hotels and 150 additional properties under development across India.
Industry analysts noted that strengthening senior management in core operational regions allows the group to maintain service standards amid rapid expansion. With local teams in place, The Fern is expected to improve responsiveness to market needs, tourist preferences and environmental guidelines.
The brand’s environmentally sensitive approach, including Green Globe certification at several properties, is set for further reinforcement under the new regional leadership. As The Fern advances its rollout of new portfolio properties, these appointments aim to preserve its reputation for quality and sustainability while scaling operations efficiently.
