The new route connects Switzerland with one of India’s leading technology and business hubs, marking SWISS’ third destination in the country after Delhi and Mumbai.
SWISS has launched its inaugural nonstop flight between Zurich and Bengaluru, expanding its network in India with five weekly services. Flight LX140 departed Zurich at 1:34 p.m., marking the start of the airline’s new connection between Switzerland and one of India’s most dynamic technology and business hubs.
The new route is expected to create additional travel opportunities for business passengers, people visiting family and friends, and travellers exploring southern India. It also strengthens direct air connectivity between Switzerland and India, providing passengers with another option for travel between the two countries.
Bengaluru Becomes SWISS’ Third Destination in India
Commenting on the inaugural flight, SWISS CEO Jens Fehlinger said,
“With Bengaluru, we are launching more than just a new flight route. We are creating new opportunities for our guests, for Swiss companies, and for Switzerland as a business location. India is a market with enormous potential, and Bengaluru is one of Asia’s leading technology and innovation hubs. Alongside Delhi and Mumbai, Bengaluru is our third destination in India. We are making a targeted investment in the growth of our long-haul network while also strengthening Switzerland’s international connectivity. In an increasingly interconnected world, personal encounters and direct exchanges are more important than ever.”
The addition of Bengaluru gives SWISS a presence in three Indian cities, alongside Delhi and Mumbai. The airline’s decision to introduce the route reflects its focus on expanding its long-haul network in markets with significant business and travel potential.
New Connection Strengthens Business and Travel Links
Bengaluru’s position as a technology and innovation hub makes it an important destination for business travel and international exchange. The five weekly nonstop flights are intended to improve access for Swiss companies and travellers while supporting connections between the two markets.
For Switzerland, the route also strengthens international connectivity and creates additional opportunities for business interactions and personal travel. SWISS sees the service as a strategic investment in its long-haul network, with Bengaluru adding another important connection to its Indian operations.
The launch comes as airlines continue to develop international connections to meet demand from business and leisure travellers. With the new service, SWISS is strengthening its links with India and expanding travel options between Zurich and southern India.
