JW Marriott Mumbai Sahar has announced the appointment of Surat Chand as Executive Housekeeper, strengthening its senior leadership team with a seasoned professional known for operational rigour and people-focused leadership.
Nearly two decades of luxury hospitality experience
Surat Chand brings close to 20 years of experience across some of India’s most prominent luxury hotels. His career has been shaped by hands-on leadership in high-pressure environments where service consistency, attention to detail, and team capability are critical to guest satisfaction.
Most recently, he was associated with The Westin Goa, where he served as Executive Housekeeper. In this role, he led housekeeping operations with a strong emphasis on efficiency, service excellence, and structured team training, ensuring brand standards were upheld across all guest-facing and back-of-house areas.

A strong foundation in large-format luxury hotels
Prior to his assignment in Goa, Surat spent over nine years at The St. Regis Mumbai, progressing through roles including Housekeeping Executive, Assistant Housekeeping Manager, and Manager – Housekeeping. His tenure at the hotel provided deep exposure to managing large teams, delivering luxury service benchmarks, and handling high-volume operations in one of the country’s most demanding hospitality environments.
Earlier in his career, he gained foundational experience at leading hotels such as Grand Hyatt Mumbai, InterContinental, and ITC Grand Maratha. These roles helped him develop a strong understanding of on-ground operations, inter-departmental coordination, and the discipline required to maintain international service standards.

Sharing his perspective on the new role, Surat Chand said,

In his new role, Surat Chand will oversee all areas of the Housekeeping Department at JW Marriott Mumbai Sahar. His responsibilities include maintaining brand standards, ensuring guestroom quality, strengthening service consistency, and building training-led excellence across teams.
