Summit Hotels & Resorts has announced the launch of The Mandir Collection, a new hospitality brand focused on spiritual tourism destinations and pilgrimage-led travel experiences. The move marks the company’s entry into one of India’s fastest-growing travel segments, driven by increasing interest in faith-based, wellness, and culturally immersive journeys.

The launch reflects the growing demand for hospitality offerings that cater specifically to pilgrims, families, and travellers seeking meaningful experiences rooted in spirituality and local traditions.

This agreement reflects Summit’s continued expansion strategy across the region, aligning with broader activity seen in hospitality expansion deals.

New Brand Focused on Spiritual Hospitality

The Mandir Collection has been conceptualised as a hospitality platform dedicated to pilgrimage destinations across India. The brand aims to combine modern hospitality standards with experiences inspired by spirituality, wellness, and regional culture.

With spiritual tourism witnessing significant growth due to improved connectivity and infrastructure development across religious destinations, Summit Hotels & Resorts sees strong opportunities within the segment.

    First Property Planned in Salasar

As part of the brand launch, the company has identified Salasar in Rajasthan for its first property under The Mandir Collection.

The upcoming hotel, Summit Salasar – The Mandir Collection, is being developed as a premium spiritual retreat designed to cater to devotees, family travellers, wellness seekers, and destination-led gatherings.

The property is expected to feature approximately 70 rooms and villas, including private pool villas, offering guests a blend of comfort, privacy, and destination-inspired experiences.

    Curated Experiences Inspired by Spirituality

The proposed resort will include a range of facilities and experiences tailored to the needs of spiritual and leisure travellers.

Planned offerings include a Satvik dining concept, temple assistance services, wellness-focused programmes, devotional evening sessions, banquet facilities, outdoor event spaces, and convenient access to the renowned Salasar Balaji Temple.

The development is intended to create an environment where guests can combine pilgrimage with relaxation, wellness, and cultural exploration.

Summit Hotels Eyes Growing Spiritual Tourism Market

Commenting on the launch, Sumit Mitruka, CEO, Summit Hotels & Resorts, said:

“Spiritual travel in India is experiencing a massive boom, with nearly 1 in 5 Indians planning faith-based or wellness trips. Travellers today are not only visiting pilgrimage destinations for religious reasons but also seeking experiences in wellness, culture, and personal connection. India’s spiritual tourism economy is projected to reach USD 135 billion by 2034, and through The Mandir Collection, our intention is to create hospitality experiences that remain rooted in the spirit of the destination while offering the comfort and quality modern travellers expect.”

    Expansion Planned Across Pilgrimage Destinations

Following the launch of its first property in Salasar, Summit Hotels & Resorts plans to gradually expand The Mandir Collection across key pilgrimage circuits and faith-driven destinations across India.

The company is currently evaluating opportunities in destinations including Haridwar, Ayodhya, and other emerging spiritual tourism hubs as part of its long-term expansion strategy.

The launch of The Mandir Collection further strengthens Summit Hotels & Resorts’ focus on developing destination-driven hospitality formats that align with evolving travel preferences and emerging tourism segments.
