Fairfield by Marriott Bengaluru Rajajinagar has appointed Sumit Gunturkar as General Manager, effective February 2026. Sumit Gunturkar will lead the hotel’s overall operations and strategic direction in Bengaluru’s Rajajinagar business district.
Mandate to Strengthen Operations and Market Positioning
In his new role, Sumit Gunturkar will oversee daily operations, commercial performance, guest satisfaction, and team leadership at Fairfield by Marriott Bengaluru Rajajinagar. The focus will be on strengthening the hotel’s positioning among business and leisure travellers while maintaining operational efficiency and adherence to Marriott brand standards.
Sumit Gunturkar will also work on building a strong workplace culture that supports consistent service delivery and performance across departments.

Seventeen Years of Hospitality Experience
Sumit Gunturkar brings more than 17 years of experience across business hotels, resorts, and upscale dining environments. Sumit Gunturkar began his journey with Marriott in 2009 and has since progressed through multiple leadership assignments across India.
Prior to this appointment, Sumit Gunturkar served as Hotel Manager at Fairfield by Marriott Goa Anjuna. In that role, Sumit Gunturkar contributed to improving operational performance, strengthening guest satisfaction metrics, and leading cross-functional teams in a competitive leisure market.
Earlier, Sumit Gunturkar held key responsibilities as Operations Manager and within the Food and Beverage division. During these tenures, Sumit Gunturkar focused on enhancing service delivery, improving operational systems, and supporting departmental performance. Sumit Gunturkar has also been associated with pre-opening support, structured training, and team development initiatives.
Sumit Gunturkar holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Hospitality from the University of Pune, combining academic grounding with hands-on operational experience.
