Radisson Hotel Group has partnered with The Job Plus and the Tourism & Hospitality Skill Council (THSC) under R.A.H.I. (Radisson Advancing Hope & Inclusion), with a target of skilling 3,000 young people over the next seven years. Building on their longstanding collaboration, the initiative aims to create accessible pathways into formal hospitality employment for young people from underserved communities through industry-led training and practical learning.
R.A.H.I. Expands Hospitality Skilling Across India
The initiative has a pan-India reach, with participants currently coming from more than 14 states and regions, including the Northeastern states, West Bengal, Uttarakhand, Delhi-NCR, Uttar Pradesh and Telangana. It focuses on young people from diverse socio-economic backgrounds, particularly those from economically disadvantaged families and first-generation entrants to the formal workforce.
Selection considers educational qualifications, socio-economic circumstances and candidates’ aspirations, with the objective of widening access to structured training and formal employment.
45-Day Training Programme Prepares Youth for Hospitality Careers
Through a 45-day training programme, participants prepare for Guest Service Associate roles across Housekeeping, Food and Beverage (F&B), and Front Office. The programme combines classroom learning, practical training, industry immersion, NSQF Level 4 assessments and certification through THSC, alongside placement preparation and opportunities to attend multiple job interviews.
The training also opens pathways beyond hotels and restaurants, including corporate hospitality, managed workspaces and facility management.
Radisson Hotel Group is working with its partners to align the curriculum with industry feedback and evolving business requirements. The initiative also incorporates greater industry immersion and a dedicated Radisson Connect component to familiarise participants with hotel operations, service standards and potential career pathways.
Placement Support Connects Training with Employment
Employment remains central to the initiative. Participants receive placement support to help them transition into formal jobs, with around 80% of beneficiaries placed in formal employment to date.
Building on these outcomes, the partners aim to extend the initiative’s reach over the next seven years, expanding access to hospitality careers while helping develop a skilled and inclusive workforce.
Nikhil Sharma, Managing Director and Chief Operating Officer, South Asia, Radisson Hotel Group, said,
“Hospitality is a people-driven industry, and investing in talent is essential to its long-term growth. Through R.A.H.I., we are working to create opportunities for young people to develop the skills and confidence needed to build meaningful careers in hospitality. Our partnership with The Job Plus and THSC brings together complementary expertise to support this ambition. By aiming to skill 3,000 young people over the next seven years, we hope to expand access to career opportunities and contribute to a stronger, more inclusive hospitality workforce.”
Industry Partnership Targets Inclusive Workforce Development
Natwar Nagar, Founder, The Job Plus, said,
“We are delighted to advance our partnership with Radisson in transforming India’s skilling success story. At The Job Plus, we are addressing a fundamental gap in how the industry accesses talent by going beyond traditional hospitality schools to identify, train and connect young people from Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities, small towns, villages and underserved communities with formal employment opportunities. Radisson’s commitment has helped demonstrate the potential of this industry-led approach. Together with Radisson and THSC, we aim to take this model to scale, building a stronger, more inclusive talent pipeline while opening pathways to sustainable livelihoods for young people.”
Rajan Bahadur, Chief Executive Officer, Tourism & Hospitality Skill Council, said,
“Meaningful partnerships are built on a shared vision and a commitment to lasting impact. Our association with Radisson Hotel Group goes beyond skilling; it is about creating opportunities, nurturing talent and enabling young people to build successful careers in hospitality. We look forward to deepening this collaboration and contributing to the long-term growth of India’s hospitality workforce.”
The collaboration combines Radisson Hotel Group’s hospitality expertise and understanding of workforce requirements, The Job Plus’s workforce development and employment capabilities, and THSC’s experience in industry-aligned training, assessment and certification. Together, the organisations aim to strengthen pathways from skilling to employment and prepare young people for opportunities across the hospitality sector.
