Minor Hotels has appointed Tamer Khedr as Managing Director of Minor Hotels Egypt, a newly created leadership position that reflects the hospitality group’s long-term expansion strategy in one of the region’s fastest-growing tourism markets.
In his new role, Khedr will oversee Minor Hotels‘ business operations across Egypt, with responsibility for driving portfolio expansion, enhancing operational performance, and supporting the development of existing and upcoming properties across the country.

Khedr will lead the company’s operations while working closely with stakeholders, owners, and development partners to strengthen Minor Hotels’ footprint across key tourism, leisure, and lifestyle destinations.
More Than Two Decades of Hospitality Experience
Khedr brings over 20 years of hospitality experience, with expertise spanning hotel operations, asset management, owner representation, and mixed-use hospitality developments.
Before joining Minor Hotels, he served as Chief Executive Officer of DO Hotels. Earlier in his career, he held leadership positions including Head of Hospitality and Owner Representative for Emaar Hospitality Group’s North Coast developments in Egypt.
His professional journey also includes operational leadership roles with Emaar Hospitality Group, Baron Palace Sahl Hasheesh, and Shangri-La Dubai, providing him with extensive experience across luxury hospitality and destination development.

Commenting on the appointment, Amir Golbarg, Chief Operating Officer, Minor Hotels Middle East & Africa, said Egypt continues to be a strategic growth market for the company. Supporting an Expanding Egyptian Portfolio
The appointment follows a series of strategic developments for Minor Hotels in Egypt.
The company recently announced the signing of Anantara Somabay Resort & Residences, introducing the luxury Anantara brand to the Red Sea destination. In 2024, Minor Hotels also entered into a joint venture with SUNRISE Resorts & Cruises to develop and operate up to 50 hotels across Egypt over the next decade, including hotels, resorts, and Nile cruise experiences.
