Mercure Lucknow has named Vidisha Puri as its new marketing communication manager, the hotel announced Tuesday.
Puri brings eight years of experience across hospitality, entertainment and events. In her new role, she will oversee all marketing communication activities for the property, including brand positioning, strategic campaigns and media engagement. The announcement appeared on both Hotelier India and The Hotel Times’s industry bulletin, confirming the appointment.
Puri holds a postgraduate degree in advertising from the ISDI | WPP School of Communication. She joins Mercure Lucknow from a background that includes working across diverse platforms in digital and traditional media. The hotel’s announcement did not cite her previous employer but emphasized her strong credentials in brand communication.
“We are pleased to welcome Vidisha Puri,” said Amit Kapoor, general manager at Mercure Lucknow Gomti Nagar. “Her innovative mindset and expertise will play a crucial role in further strengthening our brand presence both online and offline.”
The appointment of Puri is part of a broader leadership realignment at the hotel. Earlier this week, Mercure Lucknow also named key department heads for finance, food and beverage, front office, engineering and housekeeping. These strategic hires are aimed at enhancing the hotel’s guest experience and operational efficiency.
Mercure Lucknow Gomti Nagar is part of the Accor group’s midscale hotel portfolio in India. The property has previously engaged in sustainability-driven initiatives and expanded its event spaces to attract both corporate clients and leisure guests. Puri’s role will involve amplifying these initiatives through targeted marketing campaigns.
The marketing communication manager will be responsible for shaping the hotel’s communication strategy, strengthening its digital footprint, and executing creative programs to enhance brand visibility in the competitive Lucknow market. Her remit is expected to include public relations, social media, content marketing, influencer engagement and collaboration with regional tourism bodies.
Mercure Lucknow Gomti Nagar has steadily built its reputation as a preferred venue for business events, weddings and leisure stays. With recent infrastructure upgrades and expanded event capacities, the property is positioned to attract a wider audience. Puri’s strategic communication skills will be central to driving awareness and conveying the hotel’s service offerings to diverse segments.
Industry observers note that Indian hospitality brands are increasingly investing in marketing leadership roles to differentiate in a post-pandemic recovery. With Puri at the helm of communications, Mercure Lucknow aims to reinforce its brand message in a digitally connected market.
