JW Marriott Mumbai Sahar has announced the appointment of Chef Faheem Qureshi as MasterChef at its Indian specialty restaurant, BarQat. The appointment marks a new phase for the restaurant as it continues to refine its culinary identity and strengthen its focus on regional Indian cuisine.
Based within the hotel, BarQat is positioned as a destination defined by craft, discipline, and intention. Chef Faheem has been entrusted with leading all kitchen functions, including menu development, daily operations, culinary execution, and team management.

Mandate to build systems and consistency
In his new role, Chef Faheem will be responsible for embedding strong kitchen processes at BarQat. His focus will be on maintaining consistent quality, reinforcing food safety standards, and aligning every aspect of kitchen operations with the restaurant’s regional Indian culinary philosophy.
His leadership is expected to bring structure and clarity to the kitchen while ensuring disciplined execution across service periods.
Experience across luxury hospitality and specialty dining
Chef Faheem brings over a decade of experience across luxury hotels and specialty restaurants. His background includes key culinary roles at JW Marriott Mumbai Juhu, Courtyard by Marriott Mumbai, and Aditya Birla New Age Hospitality.
He has been trained under Chef Mukhtar Qureshi and Chef Javed Qureshi, gaining a strong foundation in regional Indian cuisine and classical techniques. Known for his methodical working style, Chef Faheem has led quality control systems, implemented standard operating procedures, conducted staff training, and supported pre-opening kitchen projects.
