ITC Hotels has announced the signing of two new properties under its Fortune Hotels brand—Fortune Select Nashik and Fortune Jungle Resort Tadoba—strengthening its expansion strategy in Maharashtra. The twin signings reflect the brand’s focus on scaling its presence across high-growth leisure, pilgrimage, and emerging urban destinations.
With six operational hotels in Maharashtra, including two under the Fortune brand, ITC Hotels continues to build a diversified portfolio in the state, combining business, leisure, and destination-driven offerings.
The partnership underscores ITC’s long-term expansion vision, aligning with developments seen in hospitality expansion deals.Strategic Expansion Across High-Growth Markets
The addition of these two properties aligns with ITC Hotels’ broader strategy of expanding beyond metropolitan cities into tier II and destination-led markets. Maharashtra remains a key focus area, supported by strong economic activity, tourism demand, and improving infrastructure.
The signings highlight a balanced growth approach, targeting both urban and experiential travel segments. Nashik and Tadoba represent distinct demand drivers—urban growth and pilgrimage tourism in Nashik, and wildlife and nature tourism in Tadoba.
This dual-market approach allows the brand to cater to varied traveller preferences while strengthening its regional footprint.
Leadership Perspective
Anil Chadha, Managing Director, ITC Hotels Limited, said,
“Maharashtra continues to be a key growth engine for ITC Hotels. The addition of two new Fortune properties reemphasises our conscious desire to deepen presence in high-potential tier II destinations across the state. Nashik represents a unique convergence of spirituality, viticulture and emerging urbanisation, while Tadoba is gaining prominence as one of the most sought-after wildlife tourism circuits in the region.”
He added,
“This expansion allows for diversification of our portfolio beyond the metros, strengthening our leisure, destination-led offerings, and a meaningful contribution towards the growth of domestic tourism. We seek to combine strong cultural relevance with sustained economic momentum.”
Fortune Jungle Resort Tadoba: Entry into Nature-Led Hospitality
The upcoming Fortune Jungle Resort Tadoba will mark Fortune Hotels’ first nature resort and its third property in Maharashtra. Located near the Tadoba Andhari Tiger Reserve, the resort is positioned to cater to the growing demand for wildlife and eco-tourism experiences.
The property will feature guest rooms designed with a nature-focused approach, integrating comfort with the surrounding environment. Facilities will include a swimming pool, wellness spa, and a children’s play area, catering to both families and leisure travellers.
Food and beverage offerings will include an all-day dining restaurant and a bar, complemented by event spaces designed for small gatherings and informal functions. The resort format reflects a shift towards experiential travel, where guests seek immersive and nature-connected stays.
Fortune Select Nashik: Strengthening Urban and Pilgrimage Presence
Fortune Select Nashik is scheduled to open in October 2028 and will feature 105 rooms. The hotel will include a 24×7 restaurant, banquet and meeting facilities, and amenities suited for business, leisure, and social events.
Located in Nashik, the property benefits from the city’s growing importance as a pilgrimage and leisure destination. Known for its vineyards and proximity to the Godavari River Ghats, Nashik also hosts the Kumbh Mela, attracting large volumes of visitors.
The city’s improving infrastructure and connectivity to Mumbai and Pune further support hospitality demand, making it a strategic location for expansion.
Diversified Portfolio Approach
The twin signings demonstrate ITC Hotels’ strategy of diversifying its portfolio across different segments. While Fortune Select Nashik addresses urban and business demand, Fortune Jungle Resort Tadoba focuses on experiential and leisure travel.
This diversification reduces reliance on a single segment and enables the brand to capture a broader customer base.
The approach also reflects changing travel patterns, where travellers seek varied experiences across different destinations.
Strengthening Presence in Maharashtra
Maharashtra continues to be one of India’s most significant hospitality markets, driven by business hubs, pilgrimage centres, and leisure destinations. ITC Hotels’ expansion in the state aligns with this growth trajectory.
By adding new properties in Nashik and Tadoba, the brand strengthens its presence across key travel circuits, enhancing its ability to serve diverse traveller segments.
Supporting Domestic Tourism Growth
The expansion also contributes to the growth of domestic tourism, particularly in emerging destinations. Properties such as Tadoba support wildlife tourism, while Nashik continues to attract both religious and leisure travellers.
The development of quality hospitality infrastructure in such locations is essential to sustaining tourism growth.
Aligning with Industry Trends
The hospitality industry is witnessing a shift towards destination-led travel, with increasing demand for nature resorts, pilgrimage destinations, and experiential stays. Brands are expanding into such markets to capture evolving demand.
The signing of these two properties aligns with this trend, reflecting a focus on both experiential and urban hospitality formats.
Strengthening the Fortune Brand
The Fortune Hotels brand continues to expand as ITC Hotels’ midscale offering, providing reliable and comfortable stays across diverse markets. The addition of these properties supports brand visibility and growth in new locations.
