The airline has revamped its food and beverage programme with a new pre-book menu, updated packaging and regional and international flavours, alongside expanded dietary options.
IndiGo has introduced a refreshed in-flight pre-book menu as part of its revamped food and beverage (F&B) programme, aimed at enhancing the onboard experience for customers. The programme features a new identity and packaging, along with an evolving menu that combines familiar favourites with new offerings inspired by global and local flavours.
The airline has steadily expanded its onboard food and beverage offering in response to changing customer expectations. From a limited selection of snacks and beverages in its initial years, IndiGo has moved towards a more curated menu that balances taste, quality and convenience while retaining the affordability and operational efficiency associated with its service.
Menu Inspired by Local Kitchens and Street Food
The refreshed programme offers a range of choices, from quick snacks and regional favourites to premium offerings and meals catering to different dietary requirements. IndiGo has expanded its pre-book selection to include freshly prepared sandwiches, rolls and samosas.
New additions, available on select routes and cabins, include the Veg Coronation Sandwich, inspired by the iconic Coronation recipe, with a mildly curried filling combining sweet and savoury notes. The Tangra Style Chilli Paneer Roll draws on the distinctive Indo-Chinese flavours of Kolkata’s Tangra district, while the Egg Roast Roll is a South Indian-inspired kathi roll filled with spiced scrambled eggs.
Another addition is the Fort Kochi Roast Chicken Sandwich, featuring roast chicken, fresh vegetables and subtle coastal flavours. These offerings bring regional culinary influences into the airline’s onboard menu.
Expanded Dietary Choices and Onboard Snacks
Customers can also select from dedicated menu categories, including Jain, vegan, diabetic and low-calorie options. For passengers purchasing food onboard, the menu includes ready-to-eat meals and a rotating ‘Snack of the Day’ selection.
The snack range includes options such as Butter Toffee Popcorn, Hand Murukku and Edamame Beans, available on select flights. Beverage choices have also been refreshed, with options including Hot Chocolate, Calming Blue Tea and Coco-Litchi.
The new pre-book menu has been designed around the specific requirements of the airline environment. The focus is on ease of consumption for passengers, efficient onboard service and maintaining a clean cabin environment. The programme is also intended to support the operational efficiency and on-time performance that are central to IndiGo’s operations.
Sustainability Incorporated into Food and Catering Programme
Sustainability considerations have also been incorporated into the airline’s food and catering operations. IndiGo is working to minimise food wastage through the pre-booking of perishable items, helping align food preparation with anticipated demand.
The programme also uses wooden cutlery and recyclable tin or paper packaging as part of its broader sustainability efforts. These measures are intended to support responsible catering practices without compromising food quality, safety or customer convenience.
With the refreshed menu, IndiGo is expanding its onboard food and beverage selection while maintaining a focus on affordability, operational requirements and the changing preferences of air travellers.
