IHG Hotels & Resorts has entered into a management agreement with Thanishq Hospitality for a new 200-room Holiday Inn in Bengaluru’s Electronic City, the company announced Thursday. The property is slated to open in the first quarter of 2029.
The new hotel will adopt IHG’s Open Lobby concept which transforms the lobby into a multifunctional space for guests to dine, work or socialise. It will include three dining options, four event spaces including a ballroom, along with a fitness centre, swimming pool and extensive parking facilities.
This signing marks the second Holiday Inn project by IHG in Bengaluru following the launch of Holiday Inn Express Bommasandra with the same development partner. This continued collaboration underscores IHG’s commitment to serving distinct micro-markets within the city.
Sudeep Jain, managing director for South West Asia at IHG, said that Bengaluru has established itself as a global technology and business hub and ranks among India’s fastest-growing metropolitan cities. He added that this new signing further strengthens the company’s presence with tailored hospitality offerings for modern travellers.
S. Sudeesh, managing partner of Thanishq Grande Hotels & Resorts, expressed confidence in the new project, highlighting it as evidence of a strong relationship with IHG and shared ambition to deliver quality hospitality. Partner R. Sundaram noted that the rapidly growing Electronic City area demands world-class hospitality offerings to meet the needs of corporate and leisure visitors.
IHG currently operates 48 hotels across six brands in India and has a development pipeline of 63 more hotels planned for the next three to five years. The new Electronic City project is expected to serve both business travellers and tourists, offering a modern, flexible hospitality experience tailored to fast-paced urban lifestyles.
By adding this property, IHG reinforces its strategy to grow in high-demand urban centres across India while providing dependable services for a diverse guest base.
