Indian Hotels Company (IHCL), India’s largest hospitality group, has announced the signing of a new property in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. The upcoming brownfield project will operate under the Gateway brand, further expanding IHCL’s presence in the region.
Speaking about the development, Ms. Suma Venkatesh, Executive Vice President – Real Estate & Development, IHCL, said,

The 64-key Gateway Pahalgam will provide guests with an immersive stay experience. The property will feature an all-day dining restaurant and a specialty restaurant, along with wellness and recreational amenities such as a heated swimming pool, spa, gym, and health club. It will also include banqueting facilities spread over 2,000 sq. ft., making it ideal for intimate gatherings and events.

With this signing, IHCL strengthens its footprint in Jammu and Kashmir to seven hotels, including one currently under development, further reinforcing its commitment to boosting tourism in the region.

Under his leadership, the company has become a well-recognized brand in the region. Beyond cement manufacturing, Mr. Riaz has expanded into the hospitality sector, owning and operating several hotels in Srinagar and Pahalgam. He also has significant investments in agriculture, reflecting a diverse business portfolio.
