Kerala-based chefs Jomon John and Tintu Mathew to curate a traditional festive menu for a one-day Onam celebration on August 26

New Delhi, August 26, 2026: ibis New Delhi Aerocity is set to celebrate Onam with a special culinary experience on August 26, bringing the flavours, traditions and warmth of Kerala to the national capital. Hosted at Spice It, the celebration will be available during lunch from 12 PM and dinner from 7 PM, offering guests an opportunity to explore Kerala’s culinary heritage through a selection of traditional festive preparations.

The one-day celebration comes as regional Indian cuisines continue to find a wider audience beyond their home states. The Onam experience at ibis New Delhi Aerocity will introduce diners to the distinctive flavours of Kerala through a festive buffet priced at INR 1,500 per person, inclusive of taxes.

    Traditional Kerala Flavours

The specially curated menu will feature Kerala favourites including Avial, Sambar and Cabbage-Carrot Thoran, showcasing the diversity and balance associated with traditional Kerala cuisine.

Served as a buffet, the festive meal brings together preparations rooted in seasonal produce, regional ingredients and recipes passed down through generations. The experience aims to offer diners an opportunity to discover the flavours and culinary traditions associated with Onam and Kerala’s harvest festival.

Adding a personal touch to the celebration, the feast will be prepared with the culinary expertise of Kerala-based Chef Jomon John and his wife, Tintu Mathew. The couple will bring their familiarity with Kerala’s traditional cuisine to Delhi, presenting flavours and cooking traditions associated with the region.

Bharat Gupta, Hotel Manager, ibis New Delhi Aerocity, said,

“Food plays a central role in bringing families and communities together during the festival, with a variety of dishes served as part of a shared celebration of abundance and togetherness. At ibis New Delhi Aerocity, we look forward to reflecting this spirit through a culinary experience that brings a taste of Kerala closer to guests in Delhi. Beyond the food itself, the celebration will offer an opportunity to appreciate the cultural significance and traditions that make the Onam feast so distinctive.”

The Onam celebration forms part of ibis New Delhi Aerocity’s focus on bringing diverse food traditions and cultural experiences to its guests. The property has previously hosted culinary experiences including a Valentine’s special and Navratri thali.

Through the one-day celebration, ibis New Delhi Aerocity aims to bring together food, culture and hospitality, giving guests in the capital an opportunity to experience the flavours of Kerala and the spirit of Onam closer to home.
