Cygnett Hotels & Resorts has signed its latest project in Madhya Pradesh — Cygnett Retreat TM Collection by Wyndham Ujjain, a boutique resort designed to cater to both pilgrims and leisure travellers. The signing marks another step in the group’s steady expansion across key religious and cultural destinations in India.
Ujjain, home to the revered Mahakaleshwar Jyotirlinga, has seen a surge in domestic and international visitors, driven by enhanced infrastructure and improved connectivity. The upcoming retreat, scheduled to open by mid-next year, will be located about 12 km from the Mahakaleshwar Temple and city centre. While tucked away from the bustle of the town, the property will maintain seamless access to major attractions, making it ideal for families, spiritual seekers, and holidaymakers alike.

The resort draws inspiration from the famed island of Santorini, featuring whitewashed walls, domed rooftops, arched windows, and signature blue accents. It will house 100 rooms, an all-day dining restaurant, 15,000 sq. ft. of banquet and meeting facilities, alongside leisure amenities such as a swimming pool, children’s play area, fitness centre, and spa.
