Taj City Centre Gurugram has appointed Chef Akshay Kumar as its new Executive Chef, bringing over 15 years of culinary experience within the Taj group to the property.
A graduate of IHM Chennai and the Taj Management Training Programme, Chef Akshay began his career at Taj Palace, New Delhi. Over the years, he has held key culinary positions at several prominent Taj hotels across India, gaining expertise in diverse regional and global cuisines. His industry recognition includes the Best Chef – Continental Cuisine award from the Ministry of Tourism, Telangana in 2023, and the Thai Select Signature Certification awarded by the Royal Thai Government for Thai Pavilion.
In his new role at Taj City Centre Gurugram, Chef Akshay will lead the hotel’s overall culinary strategy. His responsibilities will include curating menus, overseeing food preparation and presentation, and ensuring consistent quality across all dining formats. He will also focus on enhancing guest experiences through innovation in gastronomy and operational efficiency.
