The Renaissance Bengaluru Race Course Hotel has announced the appointment of Bhaskar Gajapathy as its new Director of Human Resources, reinforcing the hotel’s commitment to building a strong people-first culture aligned with luxury hospitality standards and long-term business goals.
Extensive Expertise in Luxury and Premium Hospitality HR
Bhaskar brings with him deep expertise across the full spectrum of human resources functions, including workforce planning, recruitment, compensation and benefits, statutory compliance, employee relations, training and development, and advancing diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) outcomes through focused hiring practices, robust corporate policies, and structured rewards and recognition frameworks.
In his current role, he plays a pivotal part in shaping people strategy, strengthening organisational culture, and aligning HR practices closely with operational and commercial objectives.

Strong Marriott Portfolio and Pre-Opening Experience
Prior to this appointment, Bhaskar served as Assistant Director of Human Resources at Coorg Marriott Resort & Spa, where he was actively involved in people strategy for a luxury resort environment. He began his hospitality career with Trident Chennai, before joining the Marriott portfolio at JW Marriott Sahar, Mumbai.
Across his career, Bhaskar has managed workforces of over 500 associates, contributed to pre-opening hotel teams, and handled senior HR leadership responsibilities across diverse luxury and corporate hospitality settings.
Marquee Task-Force Assignments and Industry Recognition
Bhaskar has been closely associated with several marquee pre-opening and task-force assignments, including Coorg Marriott Resort & Spa, Courtyard by Marriott Trichy, Courtyard by Marriott Shillong, Sheraton Colombo, JW Marriott Pune, and Four Points by Sheraton. His contributions to building scalable HR frameworks and high-performing teams have earned him nominations for the APEC Pre-Opening HR Leader Award in both 2023 and 2024.

An alumnus of DG Vaishnav College, Chennai, Bhaskar holds a Master’s degree in Social Work (HR).
