New Delhi, 16 October 2026: Air India has announced new non-stop flights between Delhi and Osaka’s Kansai International Airport, becoming the only airline to operate directly on the route. The service will commence on 2 February 2027, with four weekly flights connecting India’s capital with Japan’s second-largest metropolitan area.
The flights will be operated using Air India’s Boeing 787-8 aircraft, strengthening connectivity between India and Japan as tourism, business travel and cultural exchanges between the two countries continue to expand.
Osaka will become Air India’s second destination in Japan after Tokyo Haneda, which currently receives daily flights from Delhi and four weekly services from Mumbai. The new route expands the airline’s presence in a market attracting growing interest from Indian travellers.
The Boeing 787-8 deployed on the route features 18 full-flat beds in Business Class and 241 seats in Economy Class, offering passengers a long-haul travel experience with two cabin classes.
Convenient Schedule and Greater Travel Flexibility
Designed to maximise convenience, the new service, AI360, will depart Delhi late in the evening and arrive in Osaka the following morning. The return flight, AI359, will leave Osaka late in the morning and reach Delhi the same evening, providing connections to destinations across Air India’s domestic and international network.
The new service will also enable passengers to book open-jaw itineraries, flying into Osaka and returning from Tokyo, or vice versa. This flexibility is particularly relevant as multi-city travel gains popularity among Indian visitors exploring Japan’s Golden Route, which includes Tokyo, Kyoto and Osaka.
Delhi–Osaka Flight Schedule from February 2027
The following schedule will take effect on 2 February 2027.

Bookings Open Across Air India’s Channels
Air India’s Delhi–Osaka flights are being progressively made available for booking through the airline’s official website, mobile application, customer contact centre, airport ticketing offices and travel agents worldwide.
The additional service provides travellers with another direct connection between India and Japan while offering greater flexibility for itineraries combining multiple Japanese cities.
Japan Gains Popularity Among Indian Travellers
Japan continues to attract increasing numbers of Indian visitors. According to the Japan National Tourism Organization (JNTO), more than 315,000 Indian travellers visited Japan in 2025, representing a 35% increase over 2024 and nearly 80% growth compared with pre-pandemic levels.
The increase reflects growing interest in Japan’s leisure attractions, cultural heritage and culinary experiences, alongside strengthening business and people-to-people ties between the two countries.
Air India’s new Osaka service adds capacity to this expanding travel market and strengthens direct connectivity between India and Japan.
