Ekostay, a brand in India’s alternative hospitality segment, has expanded its presence with the launch of 19 premium villas in prominent leisure destinations. The addition aligns with the company’s strategy to broaden its reach and meet the increasing demand for private, experience-driven holiday stays.
The new villas are located across a mix of hill stations, coastal locations, and weekend getaway markets. The portfolio includes hillside retreats in Ooty and Kodaikanal, coastal escapes in Goa, and popular drive-to destinations such as Lonavala, Alibaug, Karjat, Igatpuri, and Pune. With over a dozen properties in Tamil Nadu’s hill destinations and nearly half a dozen in Maharashtra’s leisure hubs, the expansion strengthens Ekostay’s footprint in high-traffic travel regions.
Industry data points to significant growth opportunities in the sector. Wryght Research & Capital projects that India’s vacation rental market will increase from USD 3.45 billion in 2025 to USD 16.7 billion by 2034. Within this, branded villa stays are expected to reach USD 1.56 billion by 2029. Trends such as workcations, leisure-focused travel, and the rise of digital nomads are identified as primary drivers for this growth.

Following this expansion, Ekostay operates more than 160 villas across India. The company’s portfolio now covers a wide range of locations in southern India and Maharashtra, with properties situated in both established tourist markets and emerging leisure destinations.
Ekostay’s properties are positioned as private villas that integrate local design influences with hotel-level services and the comforts of a home. The brand caters to travellers seeking a blend of location-specific character, consistent hospitality standards, and an environment suited for families, groups, and long-stay guests.
