Indian luxury whisky brands enter Heathrow, Gatwick, Manchester and Birmingham, expanding Radico Khaitan’s Global Travel Retail presence
Radico Khaitan Limited has expanded the international presence of its Indian luxury spirits portfolio to four major UK airports, with Rampur and Sangam now available through duty-free outlets at Heathrow, Gatwick, Manchester and Birmingham. The move makes Radico Khaitan the first Indian spirits company to have its brands available across these four major UK airport networks and marks another step in its Global Travel Retail strategy.
The expansion comes as the company continues to build its premium and luxury portfolio internationally. Its Prestige & Above portfolio accounted for 70.3% of IMFL value in FY26, highlighting the growing contribution of premium spirits to its business. The latest airport presence gives international travellers access to a wider selection of Indian whisky brands across major UK travel hubs.
Rampur and Sangam Enter the UK Airport Network
The portfolio now available to international travellers includes Rampur Indian Single Malt Double Cask, Rampur Asava, Rampur Barrel Blush and Sangam World Malt. The brands are being positioned within the duty-free environment as Radico Khaitan expands its reach among international consumers.
The four airports collectively handled more than 170 million passengers in 2025. Heathrow recorded approximately 84.5 million passengers, while Gatwick handled around 42.8 million, Manchester 32.1 million and Birmingham 13.7 million.
The combined passenger base provides Radico Khaitan with a substantial travel retail audience and an opportunity to increase the visibility of Indian luxury spirits among consumers travelling through the UK.
Indian Whisky Gains a Presence in the Home of Scotch
Abhishek Khaitan, Managing Director, Radico Khaitan Limited, said,
“Our international ambition is not simply about increasing the number of airports in which we operate. It is about building meaningful brand presence and ensuring that Indian spirits are experienced in the right environments, by consumers who appreciate provenance, craftsmanship and distinctive character. This entry is an important milestone in our journey to take Indian luxury to the world. Global Travel Retail gives us the opportunity to connect with consumers from different parts of the world and showcase the depth, diversity and evolving quality of Indian spirits.”
The UK expansion gives Radico Khaitan an opportunity to present Indian whisky within a market strongly associated with Scotch whisky. The company’s approach centres on establishing Indian spirits as part of the broader international whisky category rather than positioning them solely in comparison with established whisky-producing regions.
Sanjeev Banga, President – International Business, Radico Khaitan Limited, said,
“There is a certain charm in taking Indian whisky to the home of Scotch whisky. We are not asking the world to choose between Scotch and Indian whisky. We are simply making sure that Indian whisky gets a seat at the table, and perhaps a place on the airport shelf as well. This is an exciting opportunity to show travellers that the world of whisky has room for more than one accent, and this time, the accent is unmistakably Indian.”
Rampur Builds on Indian Provenance
The portfolio entering the UK airport network reflects Radico Khaitan’s focus on Indian provenance and international standards of craftsmanship. Rampur Indian Single Malt is produced at the Rampur Distillery, established in 1943, and draws on the climate of the Himalayan foothills.
Its current portfolio includes Double Cask, Asava and Barrel Blush, with each expression offering a different interpretation of Indian single malt whisky. Sangam World Malt adds another premium whisky expression to the company’s international portfolio.
Together, the brands form part of Radico Khaitan’s wider strategy of developing a diversified Indian luxury spirits portfolio for consumers outside the country.
Global Travel Retail Becomes a Growth Channel
The expansion across Heathrow, Gatwick, Manchester and Birmingham forms part of Radico Khaitan’s broader international growth strategy, with Global Travel Retail expected to contribute to brand visibility, consumer trial and international recognition for Indian spirits.
The company currently has a presence across more than 65 duty-free locations and is targeting expansion to more than 100 locations. The UK airport additions therefore represent one component of a wider effort to increase the international availability of its premium brands.
The company’s international expansion is supported by its recent business performance. Radico Khaitan reported FY26 net revenue of approximately ₹6,050 crore, while IMFL volumes increased 22% to 38.3 million cases.
Premium Portfolio Supports International Expansion
Radico Khaitan’s first quarter of FY27 delivered its highest-ever quarterly volume, revenue, EBITDA and EBITDA margin, according to the company. Revenue stood at approximately ₹1,684 crore, with EBITDA of ₹348 crore and an EBITDA margin of 20.7%.
The Prestige & Above portfolio also recorded 36% growth during the quarter. Against this backdrop, the expansion of Rampur and Sangam into four major UK airports gives the company an additional channel through which to build international awareness of its Indian luxury spirits.
The move places Indian whisky in a prominent global travel retail environment while supporting Radico Khaitan’s stated ambition to expand its duty-free footprint and build recognition for Indian spirits among international travellers.
