Lemon Tree Hotels has opened Keys Prima by Lemon Tree Hotels in Darjeeling, marking the group’s entry into the hill destination and strengthening its presence in West Bengal. The 65-room property is the company’s third operational hotel in the state, with three additional properties in the pipeline.
The hotel is managed by Carnation Hotels Private Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of Lemon Tree Hotels Limited. Located on Old Kutchery Road, Keys Prima by Lemon Tree Hotels, Darjeeling is positioned close to the town’s attractions and its established leisure and tourism circuit.
The launch strengthens Lemon Tree’s footprint, contributing to the expanding ecosystem of new hotel openings across India.
Lemon Tree Hotels Enters Darjeeling
The opening gives Lemon Tree Hotels an operating presence in Darjeeling, a destination known for its tea estates, Himalayan views, colonial-era heritage and mountain climate. The property is aimed at travellers visiting the destination for leisure and short mountain breaks.
The hotel forms part of Lemon Tree Hotels’ wider presence in West Bengal, with three operational properties now in the state and three more under development.
65 Rooms and Suites
Keys Prima by Lemon Tree Hotels, Darjeeling features 65 rooms and suites across Superior Rooms, Deluxe Rooms, Studio Suites and Executive Suites.
The accommodation includes views overlooking the valley, city, forest and gardens. The property has been developed with facilities covering dining, social gatherings and fitness.

Outdoor Events and Guest Facilities
An outdoor lawn with a capacity of up to 100 guests provides space for intimate social gatherings, private celebrations and outdoor events. The facility adds an events component to the property’s leisure-focused offering.
The hotel’s location also provides access to several established Darjeeling attractions, including Tiger Hill, Darjeeling Zoo, the Himalayan Mountaineering Institute, Tenzing Rock, Japanese Temple and Peace Pagoda, Rock Garden, tea gardens, Darjeeling Ropeway and Batasia Loop.
Strengthening the West Bengal Portfolio
Vishvapreet Singh Cheema, President, Lemon Tree Hotels Ltd., said Darjeeling’s appeal across family holidays and shorter, experience-led trips makes the destination a natural fit for the Keys Prima brand.
“Darjeeling remains one of India’s most-loved hill destinations, be it a classic mountain holiday for families or shorter, experience-led trips for younger travellers. The tea estates, the food and the character of the town are as much a part of the journey as the view. This makes Darjeeling a natural fit for Keys Prima by Lemon Tree Hotels, which combines contemporary comfort with thoughtful service and a strong sense of value. With our debut here, we look forward to offering travellers our signature hospitality as they discover Darjeeling, and to marking a new milestone in our growing presence in West Bengal,” said Mr. Vishvapreet Singh Cheema, President, Lemon Tree Hotels Ltd.
The opening expands Lemon Tree Hotels’ presence in a destination with an established leisure and tourism market while adding to the group’s operating portfolio in West Bengal.
Connectivity to Darjeeling’s Tourism Circuit
Keys Prima by Lemon Tree Hotels, Darjeeling is approximately 70 km from Bagdogra Airport, 2.5 km from Darjeeling Railway Station and 1.7 km from the local bus station.
