JW Marriott Ranthambore Resort and Spa has appointed Praveen Dubey as Director of Operations as the resort strengthens its leadership team following its opening earlier this year. Dubey has been part of the property’s leadership journey and brings operational experience spanning food and beverage and luxury resort environments.
Before joining JW Marriott Ranthambore Resort and Spa, Dubey served as Director of Food and Beverage at Trident Hyderabad. A graduate of the Institute of Hotel Management, Bhubaneswar, he began his hospitality career with The Oberoi Group as an Operations Trainee and subsequently held roles across The Oberoi Vanyavilas, Sawai Madhopur, The Oberoi Udaivilas, Udaipur, and The Oberoi Wildflower Hall, Shimla.
This appointment contributes to Marriott’s organisational development, reflecting leadership appointments in hospitality.
Overseeing Resort Operations
In his new role as Director of Operations, Dubey will oversee the operational functions of JW Marriott Ranthambore Resort and Spa.
The position requires coordination across departments and close engagement with the resort’s leadership team to maintain operational standards. His background in both food and beverage and luxury resort operations provides experience across several areas of hotel management.
As the property moves into its next phase following its opening, Dubey’s role will involve coordinating day-to-day operational requirements and supporting the resort’s wider service delivery.
Experience at Trident Hyderabad
Prior to joining JW Marriott Ranthambore Resort and Spa, Dubey served as Director of Food and Beverage at Trident Hyderabad.
The role provided senior-level experience in managing the food and beverage function within a luxury hotel environment. His career progression into operations leadership at JW Marriott Ranthambore builds on this experience while expanding his remit across the wider property.
His food and beverage background is also supported by several years of experience across luxury resorts under The Oberoi Group.
Beginning His Career with The Oberoi Group
Dubey began his hospitality career with The Oberoi Group as an Operations Trainee.
This early role provided exposure to hotel operations and established the foundation for his subsequent career in luxury hospitality. He went on to hold roles across The Oberoi Vanyavilas in Sawai Madhopur, The Oberoi Udaivilas in Udaipur and The Oberoi Wildflower Hall in Shimla.
His assignments across these properties gave him experience in different resort and luxury hotel environments.
Experience Across Luxury Resorts
Dubey’s career includes experience at The Oberoi Vanyavilas, Sawai Madhopur, a property located in the Ranthambore region, as well as The Oberoi Udaivilas, Udaipur and The Oberoi Wildflower Hall, Shimla.
These assignments provided exposure to destination resorts and luxury hospitality operations. His experience across food and beverage and broader operational functions has contributed to his understanding of guest-facing services and hotel operations.
His return to the Ranthambore region in a senior operations role brings previous destination experience into his current assignment.
Pre-Opening Leadership Journey
Dubey has been associated with JW Marriott Ranthambore Resort and Spa’s leadership journey as the property progressed through its pre-opening and opening phases.
Pre-opening operations require coordination across departments, establishment of operating procedures and preparation of teams before a property receives guests. His experience in luxury resort operations provides a background for managing these requirements.
Following the resort’s opening, his responsibilities will shift toward the ongoing coordination of operational functions and maintaining standards across the property.
Focus on Operational Coordination
As Director of Operations, Dubey will work with department leaders to coordinate operational requirements across the resort.
His background in food and beverage gives him direct experience with one of the major operational divisions of a full-service resort, while his earlier assignments across The Oberoi Group have provided wider exposure to luxury hotel operations.
The role will involve working across departments to support consistent service delivery and address operational requirements as they arise.
Academic Background
Dubey is a graduate of the Institute of Hotel Management, Bhubaneswar.
His formal hospitality education was followed by an operational training role with The Oberoi Group, where he began developing his experience in hotel management. He subsequently progressed through positions in food and beverage and resort operations before taking on senior leadership responsibilities.
Strengthening the Operations Function
Dubey’s appointment is part of a wider leadership strengthening exercise at JW Marriott Ranthambore Resort and Spa. Devender Rohilla has been appointed Director of Sales and Marketing, while Lalit Daswani has taken on the role of Director of Finance.
Together, the appointments cover sales and marketing, operations and finance as the resort moves into its next phase following its opening.
