At ITC Mughal, Agra, the festive season unfolds through a powerful tribute to the city’s celebrated Zardozi heritage. The Grand Lobby is anchored by a striking 17-feet Christmas tree inspired by the intricate Mughal-era embroidery tradition known for its gold threads, beads and ornate detailing.

Every ornament on the tree honours the skill and dedication of local artisans, transforming the installation into both a cultural showcase and a festive centrepiece. Designed as a sustainable installation, the tree aligns with ITC Hotels’ ethos of Responsible Luxury through its environmentally conscious approach, supported by initiatives such as renewable energy use, reduced plastic consumption and the nurturing of biodiverse green spaces. The result is a celebration that remains immersive, joyful and mindful.

The safa, or turban, stands as a timeless symbol of pride, honour and cultural identity in the desert state.

Crafted from iron and plywood, the tree is adorned with multi-coloured safa fabrics including Bandhej, Pachranga and Leheriya. More than 130 handcrafted pagris have been meticulously arranged over several hours, creating a visually striking installation.
