Indian Hotels Company (IHCL) has signed a SeleQtions hotel in Athirapilly, Kerala, through a conversion and expansion project. The development will bring the SeleQtions brand to the destination and further expand IHCL’s presence across Kerala’s leisure markets.
The 100-key IHCL SeleQtions Athirapilly will be developed in two phases. The first phase comprises the property’s existing 37 operational keys, while the remaining inventory will be added as part of the expansion. The hotel is located on the banks of the Chalakudy River, adjacent to Athirapilly Falls, and is positioned to serve leisure travellers exploring the wider Kochi and Munnar circuit.
This signing highlights IHCL’s commitment to growth, reinforcing momentum in hotel signings and announcements.SeleQtions property to expand to 100 keys
The project combines the conversion of an existing hotel with an expansion of its room inventory. The first phase includes 37 operational keys, with additional rooms planned as part of the second phase to take the property’s total inventory to 100 keys.
The hotel will offer a mix of accommodation, dining, events and recreational facilities, supporting leisure stays as well as social and corporate gatherings.
Dining and event facilities planned
The property will feature an all-day dining restaurant, a wine and beer lounge and a rooftop dining experience. These outlets will provide a combination of everyday dining and destination-focused experiences for hotel guests and visitors.
For meetings and social occasions, the hotel will offer spacious banquet venues and meeting rooms. The facilities are expected to support gatherings ranging from corporate meetings to social celebrations.
Wellness and recreation offerings
Recreational facilities at the SeleQtions Athirapilly will include a swimming pool and fitness centre. The property will also feature a spa with multiple treatment rooms, adding a wellness component to its leisure offering.
The combination of accommodation, dining, events and wellness facilities is designed to provide guests with a broader resort-style experience within the Athirapilly destination.
Athirapilly location supports leisure demand
Located in Thrissur district, the hotel sits on the banks of the Chalakudy River and next to Athirapilly Falls, described as Kerala’s largest waterfall and one of the state’s popular tourist destinations.
The destination is also in proximity to Cochin International Airport and forms part of leisure itineraries connecting Kochi and Munnar. Its location gives the project access to travellers visiting Kerala for nature and leisure experiences.
