The Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL) has announced the signing of a new Gateway hotel in Mahapura, Jaipur. The development is a greenfield project along NH48, the Jaipur–Ajmer Road, in collaboration with the Shri Modi Group. The project supports IHCL’s plan to expand its footprint in Rajasthan and strengthen Jaipur’s hospitality infrastructure. The location provides connectivity for business travellers and visitors arriving for leisure, meetings or events.

    Jaipur’s Expanding Hospitality Market

IHCL stated that Jaipur is seeing growth beyond its established leisure base. The city is attracting a rising number of business travellers due to new commercial districts, improved infrastructure and consistent demand for meetings and conferences. IHCL aims to serve this audience with a product that balances practicality, comfort and efficient service delivery.

Suma Venkatesh, Executive Vice President of Real Estate and Development at IHCL, said,

“Jaipur is experiencing increased demand beyond its established leisure and MICE segments. With growing infrastructure and expanding commercial activity, the city is attracting more business travellers. Gateway Mahapura, Jaipur will address this demand. We are pleased to partner with Shri Modi Group for this project.”

    Hotel Features

The new Gateway hotel will include 161 keys with a mix of rooms and suites. The property will offer features designed for both business and leisure guests. These include an all-day dining restaurant, a specialty restaurant and a bar. Facilities will also include a swimming pool, a fitness centre and a banquet hall offering more than 9,000 sq. ft. of event space. The hall is planned to support weddings, corporate events and social gatherings.

The hotel’s positioning along NH48 gives guests access to Jaipur’s commercial centres and tourist locations. The road connects Jaipur to Ajmer and other parts of Rajasthan, making it a practical choice for travellers who want direct routes to business hubs, offices and established heritage sites.

    Strategic Value for Jaipur

Jaipur continues to attract visitors for its historic landmarks such as Amber Fort, City Palace, Hawa Mahal and Jantar Mantar. These attractions contribute to steady leisure arrivals. The city is also gaining importance for trade, jewellery manufacturing, textiles, education and corporate activity. IHCL’s new Gateway hotel aims to support this wider visitor mix by offering a full-service environment.

The property’s design and service plan will focus on quick check-ins, reliable food and beverage options and practical event spaces, allowing it to serve different travel purposes throughout the year. Its location on a national highway is expected to support higher occupancy from transit travellers and corporate groups.

    Partnership With Shri Modi Group

The project is being developed with Shri Modi Group. The group has a presence in mining, real estate and jewellery, along with various allied businesses. Its involvement in this project brings real estate experience and familiarity with Jaipur’s growing districts.

Antariksh Modi, Managing Director of Shri Modi Group, said,

“We are pleased to work with IHCL to introduce the Gateway brand in Mahapura. This partnership aligns with our plans to support Jaipur’s hospitality sector.”

IHCL’s Growing Presence in the City

With this signing, IHCL’s Jaipur portfolio will include 16 hotels, of which five are under development. These properties cover a range of brands from luxury to upscale and full-service hotels. The Gateway brand is positioned to serve guests who want dependable services, accessible locations and well-planned layouts.

IHCL’s expansion in Jaipur reflects the company’s focus on India’s regional hubs. The city’s year-round tourism, heritage sector, wedding market and rising commercial districts provide strong demand drivers. The new Gateway hotel aims to address these needs with efficient operations, precise service planning and consistent delivery.

Impact on Tourism and Business Travel

The addition of the Gateway hotel is expected to support Jaipur’s tourism sector by increasing accommodation supply ahead of the city’s peak seasons. As Jaipur hosts festivals, trade fairs, conferences and weddings, demand for rooms remains high. The new hotel will help distribute this demand, offering more choices for visitors.

The property is also expected to attract corporate guests due to its direct highway access and proximity to expanding industrial and commercial clusters. With increasing business travel, the hotel’s combination of event facilities, dining options and quick access routes will support varied travel requirements.

    Strengthening Jaipur’s Position

IHCL stated that its investment in Mahapura demonstrates confidence in Jaipur’s long-term tourism and business potential. The company expects the hotel to serve as a reliable option for domestic and international travellers. IHCL’s continued growth in the region indicates a strategy focused on solidifying presence in key cultural and commercial centres.

The Gateway hotel will operate within IHCL’s full-service framework, offering consistent standards across food and beverage, housekeeping, guest services and event support. This will help maintain brand familiarity for returning guests and corporate clients.

    Outlook

Jaipur’s hospitality sector is set to grow further with infrastructure upgrades, new business zones and increased air connectivity. The new Gateway hotel aligns with these developments and will contribute to the city’s ability to handle rising visitor numbers. IHCL’s long-term presence in Jaipur, supported by multiple brands under its portfolio, positions the company to meet varied traveller expectations.

The hotel is expected to become a useful addition for leisure travellers exploring Rajasthan, business groups attending citywide conferences and families visiting Jaipur for celebrations. Its services and facilities will support travellers looking for convenience, practical amenities and dependable hospitality.
