Expanding Hyatt’s Presence in Southern Africa

Hyatt has announced that a Hyatt affiliate has entered into a management agreement with affiliates of ASB Hotel Properties and Albwardy Investments (Pamodzi Hotels PLC) to launch the Hyatt Regency brand in Zambia. The upcoming property, Hyatt Regency Lusaka The Pamodzi, marks the brand’s debut in the country and represents a significant step in Hyatt’s ongoing growth strategy across Africa.

Transforming an Iconic Property into a Modern Landmark

Currently operating as The Pamodzi Hotel, the property is set to undergo extensive renovations while remaining operational. The rejuvenated hotel is expected to reopen under the Hyatt Regency brand in 2026, blending contemporary design with the warm, authentic hospitality the brand is known for. Once rebranded, World of Hyatt members will have the opportunity to earn and redeem points as well as tier-qualifying night credits, enhancing the loyalty program’s global reach.
