Hyatt Regency Dehradun Resort and Spa has appointed Suman Kumar as its new Director of Engineering, further strengthening the resort’s leadership team and operational capabilities.
Effective May 7, 2026, Kumar takes on the role with more than 14 years of experience in hospitality engineering, infrastructure management, pre-opening projects, and large-scale hotel operations. In his new position, he will lead the resort’s engineering function, overseeing maintenance, safety, infrastructure, compliance, and operational efficiency across the property.

Suman Kumar brings a strong technical and operational background developed through his experience across several hospitality projects in North India.
A graduate of Punjab Technical University, Jalandhar, with a degree in Technology and a diploma in Electrical Engineering, Kumar began his professional journey in project engineering before moving into the hospitality sector.
Over the years, he has developed expertise in hotel engineering operations, infrastructure management, preventive maintenance programmes, safety systems, and asset management.
Suman Kumar Played Key Roles in Major Hyatt and Lalit Hotel Projects
Prior to joining Hyatt Regency Dehradun Resort and Spa, Kumar was associated with several prominent hotel developments, including pre-opening assignments at The Lalit Chandigarh, Hyatt Regency Chandigarh, and Hyatt Centric Chandigarh.
Most recently, he served as Chief Engineer at Hyatt Centric Chandigarh, where he oversaw engineering operations, infrastructure performance, maintenance planning, and compliance initiatives.
His experience includes supporting hotel openings, implementing engineering best practices, managing operational efficiencies, and maintaining high standards of safety and reliability across hospitality assets.

In his new role, Kumar will oversee all aspects of engineering operations at Hyatt Regency Dehradun Resort and Spa.
His responsibilities will include maintenance management, infrastructure planning, energy efficiency initiatives, safety and compliance standards, sustainability efforts, and long-term asset performance.
He will also work closely with operational teams to ensure seamless guest experiences while supporting the resort’s commitment to operational excellence and sustainable hospitality practices.
