Grand Mercure Ahmedabad GIFT City has appointed Abhimanyu Kumar as Housekeeping Manager. With more than 12 years of hospitality experience, Kumar brings expertise in housekeeping operations, team leadership, training, inventory management and quality assurance to the role.
Kumar has built his career across several international hospitality brands, including Marriott, Hyatt, Hard Rock, Radisson Blu and IHG Hotels. Before joining Grand Mercure Ahmedabad GIFT City, he served as Housekeeping Manager at Fairfield by Marriott Anjuna Goa, where he managed department operations, staffing, inventory, training and quality standards.
This leadership change supports the hospitality sector’s growth trajectory, contributing to hotel appointments.
Leading Housekeeping Operations
In his new role, Kumar will oversee the housekeeping function at Grand Mercure Ahmedabad GIFT City, with responsibility for maintaining cleanliness, hygiene and service standards across the property.
His remit will include implementing housekeeping procedures, managing team development and planning inventory requirements. He will also work with the wider hotel team to maintain operational standards and ensure that housekeeping processes remain aligned with the property’s service requirements.
Experience at Fairfield by Marriott Anjuna Goa
Prior to his current appointment, Kumar was Housekeeping Manager at Fairfield by Marriott Anjuna Goa.
In the role, he was responsible for the overall operations of the housekeeping department, including staffing, inventory management, team training and quality assurance. The position provided experience in coordinating housekeeping resources while maintaining cleanliness and service standards across the property.
His responsibilities also included ensuring that teams were adequately trained and that inventory requirements were planned according to operational needs.
Housekeeping Experience Across Leading Brands
Kumar’s earlier career includes housekeeping leadership roles at Holiday Inn Express Whitefield ITPL Bengaluru, Hard Rock Hotel Goa, Holiday Inn Express Pune and Hyatt Centric Candolim Goa.
His experience across these properties has provided exposure to different hotel operating environments and guest segments. Working with brands under Marriott, Hyatt, Hard Rock and IHG has also given him experience with structured housekeeping processes and brand-level service requirements.
Across these assignments, his work has covered housekeeping operations, team supervision, training and maintaining standards related to cleanliness and hygiene.

People management and training form an important part of Kumar’s professional background. In his previous roles, he has been responsible for staffing and developing housekeeping teams while ensuring that employees understand operational and quality requirements.
At Grand Mercure Ahmedabad GIFT City, he will continue to focus on team development alongside the day-to-day management of housekeeping operations.
